We moved to this hotel from a neighboring hotel that ended up being a disappointment (Humphrey’s). Stay here at the Best Western over that one!!! It’s way better! Beds are comfortable, beautiful views of the bay and the marina. Staff were all wonderful, friendly and helpful. Property is beautiful and clean. I will stay here every time I visit San Diego.

Shelter Island is one of our favorite places to stay in the San Diego area. It has a quiet, island-resort feel that makes it easy to relax and unwind. The rooms are spacious, and we especially appreciate that the air conditioning isn’t the typical loud single unit slapped into the wall. The rooms themselves are comfortable, although the property overall could benefit from some updating. That said, we have no real complaints and enjoyed our stay here.

Great place to stay for a family, great place to stay for a work trip, great place to stay with a couples trip to get away for a couple days. Staff is amazing, security and parking is great, restaurant is fresh and delicious, pools and hot tubs are great for kids and adults after dark. Nice views everywhere, nice walking path too, great local spots within walking distance or a short drive and most places nearby have ample parking too.

I have to say, I have not frequented best western too often how ever I will be making reservations here once a year, I love the location, the place was so chill, my kids had a great time and no stuck up employees! We will be back next year- oh I loved the kitchen it was handy with my infant twins and toddler
