"My wife and I spent a very pleasant week at Cygnet Cottage, using it as a base to explore the Northumberland Coast and local area. This particular accommodation is ideal for a couple. The living area is well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen equipment all worked fine and there was an adequate supply of crockery, cutlery, and tools. The bathroom was small but perfectly usable with a decent, electric, shower. Upstairs was the bedroom with good storage facilities and a comfortable double bed...

"We enjoyed a lovely Christmas break at Robin's Nest. The apartment is very well-equipped, it was spotlessly clean and a very comfortable place to stay. We would certainly stay again."

"Very quirky place but a lovely stay with beautiful views. The rooms were dated but had great vibes and character. Everything was clean and free of bedbugs. The included breakfast was delicious. Look forward to staying again when we come back"
"Right next to the A1, but you wouldn't know it. Welcoming, lovely staff, good food. Lots of walkers and cyclists, good atmosphere, comfortable room, sensibly priced and conveniently located in this special part of the world. Go to Lindisfarne, go to Scotland, explore Berwick and Northumberland - this is the place to do it from!"
"First time we had stayed here but friends had recommended it so we were happy to book. It was very clean, most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Found the food very average, only had one evening meal in the hotel, that was enough, if you like everything deep fried you are sorted, even the breakfast bacon by how tough it was. The hotel is on a busy corner junction so it was very noisy and as its a historic building it has single glazing so even with the windows shut (during a heatwave, so thank goodness for a fan in the room to at least blow the warm air around) you could still hear the traffic at the traffic lights outside so not a very good nights sleep. The ensuite was tiny and the shower cubicle claustrophobic, the wardrobes were half width and so narrow you had to hang your clothes at and angle on the rail to shut the door so not much good if you were staying more than a couple of days as more than three hangers worth wont fit. The pillows were flat and mine were a bit lumpy. The bed was fine, a bit too hard for me but a good quality mattress. Bedding was lovely, clean, white and crisp. Struggled to park the first night as the carpark is open to non residents and no nearby parking on the streets around it. All in all it wasn't a bad hotel but it just wasn't that great."

"Overall a good stay, great location and sea views from the beer garden. Free parking onsite if you manage to secure a space (more luck than anything). A bit quirky inside at the bar which was cute. We didn’t eat there so unable to comment on food. Room was clean with good amenities for tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits. I’d stay here again tbf. Only thing that stopped me giving a 5* was the attitude of one of the staff members. Middle aged female at the bar who sadly needs some training in customer service/communicating with other humans, was clearly having a bad day but didn’t we all know about it. Also another unusual thing is the reception not opening until 3pm so had to hunt for a cleaner to give our key to when we wanted to check out."
"Our room is not too clean. A unclean teaspoon was left on the bathroom sink upon check in. No rubbish bin inside the toilet. No toiletries, so you must bring your own toiletries. No fresh toilet rolls were given to us.
We were offered breakfast when we checked in so we bought breakfast for 2 adults & 2kids. We didn’t get a clear breakfast timing when we asked. So on check out day, we check out at around 10:30am and asked for breakfast. We were told no more breakfast is served, so then I asked for a refund as I bought it separately. I was told that no refund for that, they offered sandwich & cereals. We were given 2 slices of toast instead, 2 cereals. I paid £39.50 for that. It would have been better if we were refunded for that breakfast. But they insisted they’ll make sandwiches but no sandwiches were served. I don’y have high standards when it comes to hotels/hotels but this experience is just too disappointing."
"A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building.
Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities.
A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park.
Breakfast was first class value.
The room was spacious excellent shower and roll top bath.
Bar facilities very good small outside beer garden.
Plenty of Sky Ports TV screens in the bar, Saturday night there is a disco in the bar.
Not for us but it did not bother us.
All round brilliant place."
