"This place is beautiful and well-kept. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and they did allow us to order from the menu after the first few days. We were there five nights. Our room said it had a kitchenette but there was only a coffee maker and mini fridge. Our second room did have a microwave. We had to switch rooms because on the third night we were lying in bed and saw bed bugs! We thought we had been getting bit by mosquitos but it turns out it was bed bugs! Luckily the manager took our call at 9pm and moved us to a different room. We had no trouble for the last two nights. Overall it was a great stay. The only thing that would make it better would be to offer drinking water. We had to ask to have our water bottles filled every day and ended up just buying some."

"Very quaint property with attentive manager. AC worked wonderfully. Property is right on the water with a very small sandy beach. Barefoot bar is literally on the other side of the fence. Bring ear plugs if music bothers you at night; they close at midnight so not too late. My sister and I stayed here on the weekends during a two week stay in Belize. We were in three different rooms (3 weekends) and liked different things about each of them. All of the rooms had AC, microwave, mini fridge, and hammock with water view. Room 8 had an amazing view of the water and plenty of table space. Room 6 had a large bed. Room 3 had some counter and cooking space. Shelly, the manager, allowed us to leave luggage behind while we stayed on an island during the week. She was very helpful and was delightfully fun to talk to. This was a great place to cool down and get some rest after a day of sightseeing."

"Like the description says this property provided us a beautiful base of operations for our time in Belize while also being an oasis of peace and tranquility as well. Everything about the home and property were clean and beautiful. The rooms with their mahogany accents were awesome, the pool and spa were very well maintained and the property itself from the farm down to the trails through the jungle were very well taken care of. This was the perfect place for us. While at the home, my wife could relax at the house and the pool while my son and I explored. During our stay on the property we identified over 15 different types of reptiles, spotted a puma and even found a kinkajou one night while we were out. Just exploring the farm and seeing all the different fruits was really cool. Every morning drinking coffee on the porch, we were serenaded by a chorus of exotic birds. From the house we were able to explore ATM caves, Tikal in Guatemala, and went out on a snorkeling and island hopping adventure that Les, the host, helped set up for us. There were a couple of small markets close by which allowed us to cook at the house and the coastal area was an easy drive when we wanted to eat out. Les has a deal with Sirenian Bay on Placencia where we went a couple of nights to play mini golf, enjoy cocktails and swim at the pool. We’ve been to Belize many times and this was by far our best experience! Thank you for sharing your home with us Les! The memories we made are priceless!"

"I had a wonderful time staying at Monkey Beach Retreat! The place is even more beautiful than the photos show. The beach and water are fantastic, the hosts (Gary and Tina) are very welcoming and helpful, and I definitely recommend Miss Miriam’s meals. I highly recommend staying here!"

"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Tanager Rainforest Lodge. The peaceful rainforest setting made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The Garden View Cottage was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the entire property was beautiful. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and every meal was fresh and satisfying. We especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere, the natural beauty surrounding the lodge, and the excellent hospitality. Thank you to everyone at Tanager Rainforest Lodge for making our stay so enjoyable. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and would be happy to return in the future."

"My husband and I visited in January 2026 and had the most AMAZING and memorable honeymoon. The staff was wonderful and so helpful from the time we booked until the day we left. Every single person we encountered was kind, welcoming, and helpful. The people who picked us up from the airport (our flight got in a couple of hours early) came within 10 minutes to pick us up early after we called and they offered us a local beer (or water). We were welcomed at the property with a glass of champagne and warm smiles. Every excursion we requested was booked for us and confirmed the day before so we knew where to go and when we would be picked up. They offered recommendations any time we asked and even helped to rent us a golf cart for a day. Oh and they got us VIP service when we went to The Yatch Club for drinks and appetizers our last night. Every night we were greeted with a special note. The spa upstairs and restaurant as well as the poolside bar were all incredible. The property was clean and well kept. They had a water dispenser with filtered water. I loved the soap, shampoo and conditioner. The rooms were beautiful with amazing views of the sea. The location couldn’t have been better. We could walk to everything. The Ellysian really made a long lasting impression on us and we will be forever grateful for all they did to make our honeymoon unforgettable. Thank you to each and every one of you for going above and beyond. Mark and Sandy"
