A place that evokes nostalgia and offers a sense of comfort and relaxation—
We wanted to create an inn in Beppu that feels like “Grandma’s house from the Showa era.”
This inn was born from that desire.

We rented an old private home in Beppu’s Kannawa Onsen district,
and with the whole family pitching in to do the DIY work, we’re renovating it while preserving as much of its old-world charm as possible.
It’s located within walking distance of the charming Kannawa Onsen district, where the steam from the hot springs wafts through the air.

While Beppu’s hot springs are wonderful, they can sometimes be too hot for small children, so
it’s hard to relax at public hot springs when travelling with kids.
That’s why we’ve piped hot spring water directly into this house, so you can enjoy the fresh, unfiltered spring water to your heart’s content.

We also provide a baby bathtub and a washbasin for children.

In the living room, complete with tatami mats and a kotatsu, you can enjoy family time together even during the cold season.
We also have an indoor jungle gym, a slide, picture books, and toys.

There are 4 bedrooms in total.
We use Koala mattresses,
and the sheets are made of 100% organic cotton.
We also provide a cot, so the whole family can rest comfortably and with peace of mind.
Additionally, the property is equipped with a desk and printer, making it suitable for long-term stays.

Kannawa Onsen is a hot spring town brimming with the unique charm of Beppu, where steam rises throughout the streets.
Just walking through the traditional narrow alleys and along the cobblestone streets is a delight, and “Jigoku-mushi” (steamed dishes cooked using hot spring steam) and visiting the various footbaths are also popular.
It’s an area with a nostalgic feel where you can leisurely experience Japanese hot spring culture.

A classic Beppu tourist spot. With colourful hot springs and exhibits, it’s fun even for kids. Located in the Kannawa area, it’s extremely accessible.

🐬 Umitamago Aquarium & 🐒 Takasakiyama Nature Zoo | 🚗 About 15 minutes

An aquarium and a zoo where you can see wild monkeys are right next to each other. It’s a popular, classic family itinerary that can keep you entertained for half a day to a full day.

A hugely popular spot where you can see animals up close by car or on the Jungle Bus. With impressive sights like lions and giraffes, it’s highly recommended for families travelling with children.
