"Such a lovely place! The bedroom was spacious with a wonderfully comfy bed, and in room coffee bags, fresh milk and cake on arrival. Felt very spoilt! And to cap it all, breakfast was absolutely excellent."

"Clean, modern facilities in a quaint setting. Continental breakfast was very pleasant. The hosts were great folk. So much more an enjoyable experience than a corporate hotel for us."

"Nice little one night stopover visiting Bude.
Ample parking and easy to find. Straight road into Bude. A little isolated so make sure you buy supplies from Bude on the way back.
A few spiderwebs and bugs in the room when we arrived but only because the window was left open thankfully because it was such a hot day.
Paula the host was very helpful and friendly start to finish. Will stay again if we visit Bude again."

"We received a lovely warm welcome. Lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. Lovely comfortable rooms with small en suite bathroom. Big plus for me was the kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Will definitely book again when coming to Devon."

"The Hoops was the best Inn style room, dinner and breakfast we've ever had! Newly refurbished room was excellent. The food was outstanding, worthy of a Michelin award! breakfast was equally superb. We will definitely stay again and can highly recommend."
"Staff , reception and welcome along with a comfortable room and en-suite excellent.
Our disappointment was that it was a little too far away from Appledore for us . We believed we could walk to Appledore in 15 minutes . Yes , if the tide is in and you catch the ferry.
Our hearts sank on arrival as the whole frontage of the inn had scaffolding giving the impression the inn was closed completely. Our agent didn’t warn us of this …
In the end we enjoyed our time at the wayfarer inn."
"The chalet was clean and well laid out with everything as stated enjoyed our stay thank you all details in your folder very helpful after long journey"
18th Century Cottage On Waterfront, Panoramic Sea Views, Courtyard Garden
10/10 Excellent
"The cottage is in a perfect location - walking distance to some lovely places to eat and the general charm of Appledore. The view over the estuary from the cottage garden is amazing. The cottage was perfect for us."
"Stayed several times before, staff welcoming and helpful. Food great especially breakfast. Rooms comfy and very quiet at night. Dog friendly so all round win win"
"Stepping into this beautiful 1600s Devon inn felt like travelling back in time in the best possible way. Full of charm, character, and cosy atmosphere, it had everything you could want for a relaxing countryside stay. From the weird and wonderful ornaments on the walls to the historic beams and welcoming surroundings, every detail made it feel truly special.
Laura was an absolutely fantastic landlord — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. She made us feel completely at home and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay.
A huge bonus was how much both my partner and our dog loved it too! It’s not always easy to find somewhere that’s genuinely dog-friendly while still feeling so comfortable and high quality, but this place absolutely nailed it. Plenty of lovely walks and beaches nearby, a relaxed atmosphere, and lots of fuss for the dog made it perfect for all of us."
