"the hotel is a nice older building; in general it was clean, spotless, as was the room. we stayed one night; basically arrived in Monterey, sight seed, then went to the hotel to shower and sleep. the building apparently has had additions and modifications. took the elevator to our floor; getting to our room was a little Trek, a map would have been helpful ;) in the morning, cleaned up, packed, went for coffee in the lobby (via the stairs), that was nice. checked out and on to more sight seeing."
