The living room of Nettlebush Cottage is wonderfully light, and has a lovely wood burner to sit in front of whilst spending a cosy night in. French doors, with level access, lead to the patio and the steep natural garden, and it’s a delight to wake up in the morning to enjoy the view down to the River Tweed and the hills above the valley. The property is set on a working sheep farm with good walks from the door, and the John Buchan Way begins in Broughton, 2½ miles away. Fishing, cycling and mountain biking are all local pursuits with the facilities at Glentress, 20 minutes’ drive. Edinburgh is a scenic, hour’s drive north and is a wonderful place to experience at any time of year, but especially for the vibrant atmosphere during the Edinburgh Festival in August and spectacular celebrations at New Year.
