Pictures need to be updated to reflect current decorations and condition. Property is very hard to access with the streets being permenitly closed. Great for 1 night while traveling.

Don’t stay at this property the last left a review and I should have taken that into consideration when booking. The mattress filthy, mini holes in the wall, 1 television in the entire home, stained sofa, very old smell, and to add to that I had a guy knock on the door window after midnight around 1am. I took pictures of everything and when I asked for relocation there were no other properties and Expedia brushed me off and left it in the hands of the host. My thing is there should be an enforceable standard to protect visitors to where the hosts are held accountable. If your looking for somewhere to stay and your reading this book at your moneys risk

I have stayed at a couple of the Porchlit properties and Kathleen was amazing. However this experience was horrible. From trying to navigate to get to the property address, then multiple failed codes given to accessing the home. After we accessed the home the property was dirty, not well cleaned and smelt bad. Immediately existed the property and contacted Porchlit again, stating that we could not stay at this location. Our visit to Birmingham was due to medical reason and having to go to UAB. It was impossible for me to speak with Kathleen and her personel folks that I did speak to…well I will say it was not a pleasant experience. Thank God I did have this stay insured and all money excluding the amount paid for the insurance was refunded. After driving 5 hours we were stuck in the area with all surrounding hotels near UAB with no availability. Due to the stress from the reason we are there and having to deal with such a disappointing property I would NOT recommend this property.
