Home was exactly I was described. Plenty of parking and wonderful porch views. We were lucky enough to have the river running while we were there… Grandchildren loved the indoor game room in addition to being able to check out the river.
We had a wedding almost right around the corner from this place. We knew it was going to be a late night and didn’t want to drive back to the valley so we decided to book here and we were so glad we did. When one member of our party wanted to leave we were able to take them to the VRBO and get right back to the celebration. The place is clean, nicely furnished and a great location if you are staying in Black Canyon City. We were very happy with our stay and extremely happy with the location
We were in BCC to visit family. This home was close to our family and was a great place to meet. We enjoyed the game room as well as the beautiful grounds and the animals!!
Great place, quiet and clean. Very private. Even though there wasn't water running, it was fun to walk along the river bed. House was nice, game room was super fun. Everything was very, very clean and super comfortable.
Quiet restful home along a creek. Thoroughly enjoy our time. Great view of the stars at night! Lots of family & everyone thought it an excellent respite from the norms of every day life!! We would stay again!
I stayed here with my family for a wedding at Chilleens. The location could not have been better for this venue. Check in was easy. The place was very spacious and clean. The front yard is gated for our two fur babies that came along too. This is a solid recommendation for a nice place to stay in Black Canyon City.
The house is in a small small town that is very remote and was perfect for us. Quick drive to Phoenix or Sedona but right by the black canyon trail.....and don't forget the pie shop...right by the pie shop. Neat neighborhood with the friendliest donkey who visited every time you walk by the fence are. Nice accomodations with comfortable beds, nice game room, fantastic shower and bathroom, and all the things you would need in a kitchen. Nice patio and view of the hills and sunrise. Check-in was a breeze and host was very responsive leading up to check-in.
The house was very comfortable and perfect for our needs though we didn’t use nearly all the rooms available. Especially loved the huge covered porch and private fenced yard - our dog was very happy here too! If you want upscale, this isn’t the place. But if you want casual, comfortable, easy-living, this place can’t be beat!
Perfect for our family of four (with 2 teenagers) with room to spread out! Great location to attend a family wedding at Chileen’s (right there at the exit) as well to explore all points north and quick drive into Phoenix area. Nice home in a quiet area and excellent communication with owner. Garrett is very responsive to questions and accommodating. We enjoyed some time in the game room! We will stay here again when in the area.
The property was perfect for our family. The area was beautiful. My favorite part is that the atmosphere of the area is slow-paced. The home was quiet and felt secluded. The views were beautiful. The host was accommodating. Local grocery store is a bit pricey being in a rural area, but what groceries aren’t these days. There are “bigger” stores 20 miles away. The only thing I would add to the property is a casserole pan, as I made Easter dinner and didn’t have one (that I found) Other than that, the kitchen and home had every thing we needed. We would absolutely return to the area and this home in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
In town for wedding at Chilleens, was a very nice stay and communication with host was great. I wanted to make sure its still a 5 star review, but the description of 5+ acres is not correct. There are multiple buildings/rentals on the property so you only get the small yard, which is cute and perfect if you knew that was all, but the listing makes it seem you have lots of space. Any time we were in sight of the rental behind us, the lady would talk non sto0 t9 us, i know i sound rude, but when i think we have 5 acres to ourselves, i want to sit on the back por h in peace. And I hope nobody uses the 3 concrete dog runs in the heat. Im thankful we were able to bring our furbabies and again, we were very pleased with our stay, but dont advertise those as dog runs. Owners are very nice, helped us get something we forgot, so nothing against them or the house, just how it is marketed. Thanks for having us!

Great getaway, easy access from I-17, lots of parking. The house was clean and well appointed. We wound up with 10 in our group and had room for more. I had trouble finding the key pad to access the house, and the host called me back immediately. We never ran out of hot water, inspite of back to back showers for a number of us (plenty of towels. But, European style, you may want to bring your own wash cloths, lol.) The kitchen had pretty much anything we needed for meal prep. Beds slept well. Sitting on the deck drinking our coffee in the cooler mornings was relaxing, with wonderful views - we got to see some wildlife, even! The younger ones (and some of us older ones, lol) enjoyed the game room - a nice feature not often found, I'd imagine. Overall, a great experience (my first VRBO), and I would hope if I ever make it back to AZ, that we could stay there again! For basically, what could have been hotel accommodations for 4, we were able to take care of 10, but much more comfortably, and with more amenities. It worked fantastically!!

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Great potential, but fell flat.
This review is strictly about the home itself, and not so much the host. He was easy to get in contact with and communication was quick. However, this home needs a lot of work and our stay was less than ideal.
Positive notes are, the front porch was a great place to hang, the mountain scenes were beautiful and it felt secluded.
Unfortunately there were still a lot of inconveniences. The toilet downstairs had plumbing issues during our entire stay. We were unable to use it and had to clean up leaks because the wax ring is broken. Host called a plumber and we had to deal with that.
The fridge upstairs did not get below 50 degrees because the coils are frozen over and broken. Luckily there is a fridge downstairs. The dryer only does air dry, we could not get it to heat.
There are “fire gone” canisters are expired by over two years, which is a safety concern. Water stains on basement ceiling.
The creek that runs behind the home was dried up. We’re not locals, so had no way of knowing to expect anything different from the listing. The hot tub was part of the listing when we booked and host neglected to tell us it would not be available to use, until the day we arrived.
Overall, there are a lot of things that need to be fixed and of course everyone’s standards are different. But for us, when we pay for something and expect basic amenities and don’t get them, it feels disappointing.
Our stay was perfect. The owner contacted us multiple times to make sure all our needs were met. The home was clean and had all essentials to use for our stay. It’s a perfect place to stay if in town for a wedding and was great central point to travel out for seeing different sights. It was quiet and beautiful environment that made it great for relaxing at the end of the day.
Garrett our host was very accommodating. Having two drip coffeemakers was wonderful for those who like leaded vs. unleaded coffee. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck in the morning and evening relaxing and the view is lovely.
Garrett and Bianca were very responsive. They were adding solar panels when we arrived, so the power was off. They made sure that we could access the house and notified us when they had to turn off the power. We had no issues with anything. Loved the house and its views.
Place was perfect for our stay during our daughter’s wedding at chilleens. (Only 5 mins away) We got lucky and had rain the week prior so the river was running and created a beautiful backdrop. Host Garrett was great to work with.
