Coral Sands Apartments

"Coral Sands Apartments might not be a brand-new luxury resort but it delivers on everything that matters if you want a quiet, small self catering boutique complex. The rooms are immaculately clean with direct beach access and convenient car parking right outside your door. The location is central for exploring the island and enjoying activities (Arorangi CICC is across the road, the Waterline and Castaway are easy walking distance). The owner/manager, Sue, is welcoming and exceptionally accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to find the room stocked on with fresh bread, jam, milk, butter, cereal, tea, coffee and cold water. The kitchen tap water is UV filtered so no need to buy drinking water. Hot water was available on demand in the rooms and there is an in-house washing machine, iron and ironing board (if you actually need (???) to iron on holiday). It is exceptional value for money and I can't recommend it highly enough! I'm already planning my August 2027 trip to Raro."

"We really enjoyed staying at Castaway. From our arrival the checkin process is relaxed and simple. The room was clean and tidy, the bed in our room was massive and comfy. The shower was great with good pressure. Grace at reception was excellent and is an assett to Castaway. Castaway is in a good location and is smaller than some other resorts, which made it quieter and relaxed. Arorangi has bells rung at 5am(!!) On weds/fri/sun for church, which was a shock the first time but doesn’t last long and is NOT a tsunami warning!"

"Nora is a very friendly host and their family will respect your privacy and leave you be. The only issue is that the studio is under their house so you can hear people walking around. Other than that it is the perfect studio for a solo traveler or a couple."
