The Lake Hotel Killarney

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel has one of the best mountain views in all of Killarney. It's located off the town center about 1.5 miles, so it's not a super easy walk to town, but doable if the weather is ok. The interior is full of antique furnishings and memoribilia from the hotel over the years. The bar is welcoming and bright and the Bistro restaruant has good food and service andd great views of the mountains. We did not eat at the main dining room. The lodging areas are a bit tired and dated, but I find this pretty typical in Ireland. I did not find this to be a huge negitive, however. It's just part of the charm. Most of the rooms (but not all) have Lake Views. You'll want one for sure. Killarney is a lovely part of Ireland and a good jumping off spot to so many tourist spots. It's my favorite place to stay. I'd recommend if you are in Killarney to try to stay at The Lake Hotel at least a few nights. The view is worth it."
