"As part of the 1661 House, your stay at Dodge treats you as a guest of 1661. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Breakfast service was great (it's a buffet but all the waitresses were ready to help). Our room was clean, quiet and very convenient."
"The location of this hotel could not have been better, right on the beach and close to the ferry, stores and restaurants. There were many positives about the hotel including a charming lobby, porches overlooking the main street in front and beach in back with comfortable seating. However, I'm not sure if the peeling paint on the walls was a decorative choice (the distressed look) or general disrepair. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach which was its finest feature but the room needed painting and it felt quite cramped. Other than a shower curtain there was no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom so the entire bathroom got flooded when the shower was running. There was a door leading out to the balcony that did not have a screen. We left the door open to the elements so we could hear the sound of the waves and get some ventilation."
"I loved my stay at Eureka Hotel. We stayed in Room 109 and it had a cute little porch we utilized in the morning and at night. The view was beautiful. I can’t say enough about the staff. They all were super friendly, kind and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The farm (animals) and garden were amazing. Overall, super happy!!"
"Dank and musty smelling room, beat carpet with stains, AC unit had caked on dirt in vent. Tried to air out and had ro spray freshener both days but I'd still stunk. Plus when we showed up on Saturday afternoon they were pouring concrete outside the room. Horrible room 112. No other rooms available. Will never go back. "
"The staff was great! The general manager is so conscientious. The shuttle service is amazing. It is free! They circle back immediately after each run so you never wait long for a ride. Our driver, Ray, was the best! Beautiful well stocked bar sits on the water. There is a cafe so you can order your food, get a drink and sit at the picnic tables enjoying the beautiful view of the water."
"We very much enjoyed our stay at The Atlantic Inn. The property and views from our room were stunning. It was also convenient that it was a short walk from downtown!"
"Unit 10 studio. Lies in the listing. No view, several blocks to beach. Full bed, not queen. No heat and no staff to help. (Key had been left in box by locked office door.) No reply to our messages through Hotels.com system or phone number we found. These were four cold, windy off-season nights! We used the electric oven to warm the place. One thin sad blanket was provided. Luckily we had brought a comforter and a beach blanket we could put on the bed. DVD player was broken. Bare minimum kitchenware. The “property fee” tacked onto bill was shameless. For what? On the up side: (“other than that Mrs Lincoln how did you enjoy the play?”) plentiful hot water, new coffee maker, ice trays, good location. Nature and charm of Block Island made it a great time despite the flaws here."
"Upon arrival, the gentleman who greeted us was extemly nice and professional. However, he didnt know wich room or area we were staying in.
He asked if we were staying in the Farm house we said yes. He then began to ask if we were sure we wanted to stay in that room since it was two bedrooms and there was only two of us. (Absolutely this is what we paid for.) He took us to the farm suite wich i thought was very nice. Until he opened the door and there was another guests stuff in the room.
He apologized, we all had a laugh, and then i pulled up my reservation and confirmed it was the apartment not the suite. He drove us back to the lobby to get the farm house suite key.
I was willing to let that go, this morning we were trying to catch the 11:00am ferry. We stoped in the lobby to return our key and grab breakfast wich is listed from 8am-11am. We walked in at 10:20 asked the person cleaning the tables if we could grab some breakfast and were told no, its too late.
So to be honest, this "resort" has no real food on site, they do 30-45 minutes of "champagn and nibble" in the evening, and breakfast for 2 hours at 8am.
Note to the owner: Subpar experience for $500 a night."
