The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't deterred our zest for exploring. Here are some tips on how to handle the new challenges of travelling:

• Before you lock in a flight, see if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Keep informed with the latest updates by reviewing government websites.
• When you go through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Anyone refusing to wear a face mask may be fined and denied boarding.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• You're permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. You'll need to remove it for X-ray scanning.
• Place any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're taking food through security screening, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
