Perfect
Our stay here was outstanding. It was so quite, so peaceful, so beautiful. It was difficult for us to make ourselves leave just to explore the area. The cottage is charming and well appointed with nice linens, comfortable bed and everything you'll need for a lovely stay. Our hosts were the best; thoughtful & helpful without ever being intrusive. If you want to stay on the Maine coast, don't miss this lovely place. We saw loons, cormorants, ducks and seals every day along one eagle siting.

Lobster, Wild Blueberry Pie—Oh my!!
My husband and I stayed at The Raven’s Nest for 1 week at the end of September, to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We ate the best lobster, wild blueberry pie, mussels and oysters everyday! We built a fire out back a few times and toasted marshmallows. We truly had everything we needed and more. Carol, the host and her husband Les were friendly and had wonderful local information. We flew into Portland and spent the first and last day there. Lots of wonderful shopping and restaurants! We took day trips to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Deer Isle and Ellsworth to the LL Bean outlet store! We would love to come back to Bue Hiill and stay at The Raven’s Nest again! Absolutely awesome experience!!

Our Stay at Ravens Nest
Our stay at Ravens Nest was great! When we arrived it was raining hard due to Hurricane Lee passing through the area. Leslie and Carol came out and offered to help us unload our vehicle. We found the cabin to be very clean with all the accommodations we expected and the grounds, well the grounds are just beautiful. We recommend this rental property to anyone who visits the Down East part of Maine. It’s a jewel.

Raven's Nest-a bit of Heaven
Particularly impressed with kindness and generosity of our hosts, Leslie and Carol. Cottage extremely comfortable and well equipped and setting at water's edge could not be beat. They kept us amply supplied with fresh veggies from their garden which was a real plus. Extremely helpful with discovering the area. Beautiful and serene. Highly recommend to anyone.

Simply paradise
I've been vacationing in Maine with my family for my whole life and it truly is vacationland. The Raven's Nest is a beautiful cottage with full amenities and unbeatable location. I look forward to staying there again next year and the years to come.

We had a lovely week long stay at the Ravens Nest. The amazing view of the water is beautiful in all weather and the sunrise was stunning! We had a mostly foggy stay but it did not affect our enjoyment of the property. Close to lovely Blue Hill and other small towns a short drive away. Acadia is an easy day trip. We kayaked right from the house as well. Nature abounds, bring your binoculars! Carol and Leslie are gracious, lovely hosts

Perfect Blue Hill Peninsula Stay
We loved our stay at Raven’s Nest. The cottage is immaculate and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. The bay view is expansive. We didn’t have very cooperative weather, but even so we enjoyed the beautiful view from the living room. If it had been a little bit warmer, we would have spent our time on the back deck and gazebo. It’s close to grocery stores, restaurants, and most importantly beautiful views and trails in every direction. We hope to return again.

Very comfortable cottage on the bay
Property was comfortable and provided anything you might need during your stay. The owner’s were welcoming. We enjoyed the wonderful views of the bay and spent much of our time on the deck watching the wildlife. It was exactly what we needed to relax and explore the area, including Acadia National Park.

Coast of Maine happiness
The cottage is exactly as advertised. Perfect for a single or couple. The owners greeted us with peaches and vegetables from their garden, so check-in was the best ever. The house is furnished beautifully and comfortably with a fully equipped kitchen, complete with sharp knives, quality cookware and crackers for the lobster. We spent lots of time, weather permitting, on the deck or down by the fire pit. The view is wonderful with loons, cormorants and seal. It was interesting to watch the lobstermen at work just a few hundred yards outside our door. It is close to Blue Hill and Deer Isle, so plenty of places to shop and eat. Terrific hiking in abundance. We hope to return.

Wonderful retreat on the water for two people.
The cottage was very comfortable with windows and skylights that let in lots of light and air. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals. The bedroom was pleasant and airy with a raised ceiling and ceiling fan. The deck was furnished with a table and chairs - perfect for enjoying views of the water over a cup of coffee in the mornings and dinner in the evenings. There was always something to see on the water: lobster boats, sail boats, cormorants, and seals. From the deck you stepped down onto a lawn with a picnic table that was great for eating lobster, a couple of adirondeck chairs for reading, and access to the water in a couple of kayaks. Last but not least, the owners were very kind and helpful. They provided us with a welcome bottle of wine, and offered us fresh produce from their garden.

A Week at Raven’s Nest
Carol and Lesley are friendly, helpful and generous hosts. The cottage is pleasant and comfortable, the setting on the bay tranquil. There’s a cabin next door, less than 100’ away.

A sublime time in Blue Hill!
My wife and I have spent the last 12 years coming up for a week in the summer to vacation in Blue Hill. Our original go-to cottage rental was sold 4 years ago so we had to find a new place to place to stay. This is our new absolute favorite! The Raven's Nest is very comfortable, quiet and right on the water! Great for kayaking. Leslie and Carol were wonderful hosts! We look forward to the opportunity to return!

Perfect Getaway
We had never been to Maine and decided to go for our 25th anniversary. We had a great time and really enjoyed the cottage. Our hosts were excellent. The bedroom was completely remodeled into a vaulted ceiling space. From here we were able to explore Blue Hill, Ellsworth, Deer Island, Bar Harbor and Acadia, Schoodic Penninsula and even a day in Portland. The last two days we saw seals in the water right in front of the cottage. A beautiful trip

Beautiful location
From the moment we arrived we fell in love with this house. The view was spectacular, so peaceful, and steps to the beach. Carol and Leslie were so accommodating and wonderful hosts. The house is fully equipped and even better in person than the photos. We loved kayaking right from the house and enjoying the Maine waters and wildlife. Highly recommend and can’t wait for our next visit!

Blue Hill Getaway
We loved our week at Raven's Nest. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of Blue Hill Bay. It was filled with all the essential supplies and even more. It didn't take long to feel completely relaxed and at home. Every morning, we ate breakfast on the wonderful deck with sightings of the local cormorant perched on its daily spot and loons swimming by. Carol and Leslie were very warm and friendly. They even offered us fresh veggies from their garden. We will be back to Raven's Nest soon.

This is a very well appointed property in a gorgeous location, with direct ocean access. In addition to eating dinner on the deck, guests can use 2 kayaks to go exploring.

Wonderful stay at Raven's Nest
We had a great stay at the cottage... Carol even got our toddler a cute little stuffed lobster to remember her Maine vacation! The cottage was well equipped and there's a grocery store just up the road. The hosts also let us know about a pond with a sandy beach nearby that was perfect for our daughter. Acadia and Bar Harbor are less than hour away which we loved. The view from the backyard was great on its own, too.

Best vacation ever!
Everything about our stay at The Raven was wonderful! Our hosts went out of their way to make this vacation a very special one. They were very helpful and communicated promptly to all of our inquiries. We felt like we were staying with family and the thoughtful touches were wonderful The cottage is charming, very clean and has one of the best coastal settings in the area! It is situatied mid coast and conveniently located. Ideal location for a sightseeing or just relaxing. Carol and Leslie were very attentive and accommodating., greeting us with fresh vegetables and beautiful dahlias from their garden. We used their sea kayaks several times to explore the bay outside the cottage. Acadia National Park is about an hour away, full or excellent hikes and bike rides. Locally, Harriman's Point provided other places to explore and photograph. Excellent week overall.

Magical Location
Raven's Nest is located directly on the water on Blue Hill Bay. It's proximity to Blue Hill restaurants and supermarket and other interesting and scenic locations throughout the area was very appealing to us. We've been to the area many times and this was the best location we've ever had. Carol and Leslie are wonderful hosts and did an impressive job remodeling the cottage.. We would love to come again!

Beautiful ocean side cottage
We had a restful and beautiful week. Leslie and Carol were great hosts and even delivered fresh vegetables from their garden right to our door. They are continually improving this cottage and have some nice changes for next summer in the works, even though it's great as is. The water here is milder and a little warmer because it's protected by islands. I actually swam every day! Seagulls, loons, bald eagles, seals, and the chug chug of lobster boats each morning were are movies and netflix. We never turned on the TV once. Thanks so much. Kate and Joel, from Durango CO

The perfect spot!!!
What a great little spot off the beaten path!!! If you enjoy Bald Eagles doing a morning fly-by, watching seals shore birds and lobster boats checking traps from the backyard, then this is the place. Les and Carol are great hosts and very welcoming. The house is well stocked for a clambake on a firepit looking out over the water. The town of Blue is far enjoy away from the craziness of Bar Harbor with local hiking areas and a small town feel. I didn't want to leave....

Beautiful Getaway
Very cute, comfortable, peaceful cottage on the water. This is a very relaxing, quiet piece of heaven. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed meals on the new deck while watching the boats go by. The wild life was amazing, saw some seals, starfish, jellyfish, loons and an eagle. We had a bonfire overlooking the water. The owners, Carol and Leslie were amazing hosts with some helpful tips for the area since this was our first time visiting Maine. Will definitely return for a future visit.

What a gem!
Raven's Roost was perhaps the best find we've ever had on VRBO! We were looking for a quiet spot in Maine to enjoy the outdoors and see the sights around Bar Harbor. We could not have found a better place! This charming little one bedroom cottage is maybe 50' from Blue Hill Bay. It is newly renovated, eclectically furnished, and impeccably equipped, with amazing eastern views (if you're an early riser, the sunrises are spectacular!). The newly constructed deck is a wonderful place to have your meals, and if there are any bugs about, the screened in gazebo serves as an escape. The fire pit is right on the water, and there is ample wood/kindling for cooking some fresh lobsters (available at very reasonable prices just a few miles down the road at Annette's Sleigh Bell Shop) or just toasting some marshmallows for s'mores. The town of Blue Hill is maybe 8 minutes away with everything you need, and Acadia/Bar Harbor is only a 50 minute drive. Leslie and Carol are the most gracious and responsive hosts we've ever had, and they have created an amazing getaway that we fear will be difficult to book in the future once it becomes better known. Raven's Roost is da bomb!
