I had my dogs with me and they loved the beach. I loved the friendly and dog friendly staff and people. I had breakfast room serviced and it was top grade food.
Absolutely beautiful property- laid back but classically tasteful. Staff was wonderful…Mimmeo & Sebastian are fabulous & friendly & Ivette in the spa gave a top notch massage. Gigi’s never disappointed! I will absolutely be back.
EVERYTHING about our stay at Gurneys was wonderful. The staff was outstanding and so accommodating. The room was beautiful looking out at the ocean. We have decided to make a family tradition to go to stay.
I took my husband for a relaxing weekend for his birthday at Gurneys Resort. We had an ocean front room with a beautiful view! The room and resort was beautiful and clean. We hung out at GiGis bar a lot and the bar tenders were great! Super friendly and helpful! I loved our stay however I was truly disappointed to get a call on our check In day to tell us the indoor pool could not be used. That was literally what we wanted to do for the weekend was relax at the pool and eat and drink. I booked the trips weeks prior so to get a call the day of saying we can’t use to pool during our stay was truly disappointing. They waived the resort fee for the inconvenience, otherwise the weekend was great.
Our family of four stayed for 3 nights in a two bedroom suite with ocean views. We booked it last minute for spring break. Overall, we had an amazing time and enjoyed our stay despite the cold temps. The room was clean. I saw no obvious signs of aging of furniture, fittings and walls - a huge plus given the volume of people it must see.
We chose to have breakfasts, lunches and one evening's dinner outside of the resort. The only area I thought they could have done better is the consistency of the communication and countenance of the staff. Front desk was excellent - smiles, eye contact and clear communication. Cleaner was happy, smiles and positive. Gigi's maitre d' was polite and prompt but we're out of New York, it'll be nice to have some warmth through a smile and eye contact. Similarly, while one evening's waiter, Felix, was phenomenal in his ability to connect professionally with us, the next night's waiter did not. I can understand that they must see a variety of individuals every day and it can wear on their emotions (perhaps some individuals are rude to them?) but they are in customer facing roles and each new table is an opportunity to bring some warmth and enjoyment to a new customer's experience. We'd go again and adjust our expectations of Gigi's dining experience.
After Labor Day it’s very quiet and it feels like you have the resort all to yourself.

All of the staff were lovely. The food was much improved since the last time, and the room had nice fixtures, but they were in dire need of maintenance. The first time we went to Gurneys for our Anniversary, they put us in a suite and had beds and bowls for our little dogs. This year, they put us in the farthest building, overlooking the parking lot with no amenities for our dogs (who we paid for). They did not even provide hand towels! I hope they can improve because for that price, off-season, we can find better.
We had a lovely one night stay. Everyone was very friendly. Having my dogs there was a treat. The spa was great and relaxing. GIGI’s restaurant is a must. The only complaint I have is that the bedclothes need to be updated. They were torn/frayed in multiple places. Other than that it was a great trip.
