Nestled in the Cairngorms National Park the cottage makes a perfect base from which to enjoy the awe inspiring natural beauty of the wild Highland landscape. The area is perfect for everything from a family holiday in the countryside, a ski or climbing adventure, or a romantic weekend getaway. The cottage is also a haven for wildlife as it is surrounded by woods and located just off a single-track road with red squirrels, birds, and deer visiting the attractive gardens.

The popular town of Boat of Garten is close by with excellent restaurants and pubs, the area is surrounded by bike trails and quiet roads suitable for mountain and road bikes with several bike hire shops in the local area. Other attractions locally are the Highland Wildlife Park at Kincraig, 2km zip wire at Kincraig and Landmark Adventure Centre at nearby Carrbridge.

The cottage is 25 miles from Inverness and is a great base for joining the spectacular North Coast 500 road route around the north of Scotland.

Ptarmigan is let Friday - Friday throughout the year also Monday - Monday outside school holidays. Short breaks are accepted for either 3 nights Friday - Monday, or 4 nights Monday - Friday outside school holiday periods.
