"Room was good size with sea view and walk in shower beds very comfortable food amazing all staff friendly and attentive looking forward to returning October"
"Lovely rooms, although basic, in a great central location, just a 10 minute walk from the waterfront, and even less time to get to local cafes and shops. House owner(s) were really welcoming. They stayed completely separate downstairs, and left you to your own devices. Downside would be the 2 shared bathrooms, although you hardly notice that other people are staying there and using them, and they were cleaned multiple times a day. Sadly there was also no access to a fridge, but this allowed us...

Malaga Hills Double Comfort Boutique & Wellness Hotel -Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Vréneli, Ruud, Estrella and Estela couldn’t have been better hosts.
This is a fabulous space to relax in mountains of Andalusia, after an hour or so driving from Málaga airport. We hired a car from the airport and were glad to have chosen an automatic with a little more power than the average entry level rental car. The drive is fairly straightforward from Málaga Airport.
By all accounts there are some amazing hikes, although the purpose of our trip was to switch off and relax as much as possible, and we had no intention of doing anything active.
It’s tough to beat a delightful breakfast, freshly prepared and beautifully presented by Estela or Estrella, either looking towards La Maroma (the highest peak of the Sierra de Tejeda) or, from the other side of the table, down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea. Made better still with quality coffee, (and Cava’s always an option).
Both Estrella and Estela were very patient with our extremely rudimentary Spanish conversations and have great local knowledge. Estrella very kindly made dinner reservations for us each night at different restaurants around Cómpeta, a short drive away. Our favourites were El Cortico Paco and for accommodating dietary requirements, the staff at El Pámpano were particularly helpful.
We have already recommended Málaga Hills to friends and colleagues since returning home."
Beautiful Villa set in a delightful valley, close to Competa,Nerja and the sea.
10/10 Excellent
"This is a lovely villa, clean and spacious and has absolutely everything you could possibly need, and then some, but what really makes it amazing is the outdoor space. Beautifully landscaped gardens, from the gated parking area to the private pool, so much space and different areas to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Amazing views across the valley and so much choice of where to relax, from sun loungers to 2 outdoor lounge areas, and at and several areas to dine and enjoy the sunset. Even a hammock! The photos shown here , great though they are don't do it justice. The coast is less than 20 mins and we were able to easily visit Torrox (big Lidl there);and Nerja. We went to Granada too which is about a 90 minute drive. Nearby Frigiliana is a must visit and we spent a nice day there. If you don't know the area I would advise arriving in daylight if possible. The villa is accessed from a twisty narrow mountain road off the Torrox to Competa road. Adam (property owner)helpfully provided a video which helped us find the villa on our first day. After that it was fine. For a peaceful relaxing place to stay within reach of some beautiful towns I would certainly recommend this. "
"Great place to stay, a lovely welcome and well-kept, clean bedroom. A good breakfast selection eating on the terrace with wonderful views. Wouid recommend!"

Villa 3 bed, Private Pool & New Outdoor Kitchen
8/10 Good
"Pros/ Key insights for guests:
- Fantastic outdoor space with lovely views and not overlooked.
- Well stocked property overall for daily life, including kitchen materials (and leftover non-perishables from previous guests).
- We would return to the property, we feel it is good value
- Potential guests need be comfortable re property logstics (quite far from nearest corner shop, a trek to coast, windy roads that mean travel takes longer)
- Property manager very responsive & helpful
Well intended suggestions for further improvements:
- Bedrooms downstairs feel dated and basic (note absence of photos) - an upgrade would really elevate the property.
- Sliding doors from conservatory very stiff
- Removing clutter (eg under sink) & personal items from the owner (eg drawer full of owner paperwork in the lounge) would be really helpful.
- Add grip strips to the 2 sets of outdoor steps for wet-weather safety OR provide optional padlocks for the gates as they are dangerout when wet (I injured myself)
- Welcome pack would be amazing eg to provide information about facilities (eg hidden wash machine, how best to manage the wasps that ruin outdoor dining intentions)
- Can the fallen figs be managed between guests? There were a lot, they kept sticking to our shoes (unavoidable due to volume of them) and they attracted wasps
- Getting in and out of the driveway entrance is really tricky, could this be improved?
- Fix the drawer fronts in the kitchen that fall off when opening drawer"
"The drive to the house was terrifying, we had people cancel day trips and plans because they didn’t want to drive the road to the house. One of my family refused to go in the car to Sayalonga and walked to the town every single time to avoid the scary drive. We were unable to use both pools on any of the days, it was one or the other and they were cloudy for most if not all of our stay. Not enough washing machines, refrigerator space, beds were uncomfortable, no a/c in the house, we had to buy about 20 fans so people could sleep. It was a nightmare and has tarnished VRBO for me personally. I have lost trust in your site. Shocking really"
