The room was not well designed and not that well maintained. Multiple lightbulbs were out which made a dark room even darker.
The real issue was with the design of the room: there were NO side tables or any shelf by the bed to store even a phone or reading glasses. The worse part was that there was only 1 outlet on the wall where the bed was which made charging 2 phones or any other devices impossible.
So maybe for 1 traveler it would have been less of an issue but as a couple that was not very pleasant.

This is a lovely hotel in the Ku’Damm neighborhood of Berlin. The staff were exceptional, especially Marco!!, with helping figure out places to eat, how to take the U-bahn and getting around. The rooms are lovely and well appointed/have everything you might need. The gym, while on the smaller side, was also excellent and well equipped.
