The Black Bridge. This bridge used to carry a railway line over the river (see 1131986), towards Dillichip Works (compare 1092625), but the line fell into disuse long ago. The bridge was subsequently used by pedestrians, but, at the time of writing, it has been closed to the public for several year. On this side of the river, the cycle path (NCN Route 7) passes under the bridge. The buildings on the other side of the river are bonded warehouses, a fact that probably accounts for the blackness of the trees here, if not that of the bridge itself (see 971102).

Start of track to Highdykes Farm. The track begins at this point, at the northern edge of Beechwood Estate (the area of housing indicated on the map); the track is a continuation of a road within the estate. For a view further along this route, see 278799. Just beyond the gate, a footpath begins ( https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1622691 ), although it isn't particularly visible at this point. The footpath leads off to the right, parallel to the edge of the housing estate, but separated from it by a strip of woodland.

Clean room and friendly staff. The only issue was we were not informed that there was some maintenance/building work happening on what sounded like the floor above us (we were on the 7th). It wasn’t a problem but would have been nice to know in advance.

Really good stay for brining my parented and dog on my work trip. Would definitely book again. Great apartment space with a good enough kitchen for a few days. Only downside was that the sound insulation could have been better.
