We had the best time here! Skied both Beech and Sugar Mountains. Great proximity to both! Cabin was cozy and spacious! Teen boys loved hot tub after long days on the slopes. Highly recommend this property for any mountain getaway!
Beautiful cabin! Gorgeous Mountain Views, private hot tub, pool table, and fully stocked kitchen made this family vacation absolutely perfect. We will definitely return!
The house was gorgeous and very roomy with a great view. Only issue was the fireplace did not work and maintenance was unable to fix it during our stay. But overall it was very very nice.
Stayed with my husband and our 4 kids to ski at Beech Mountain. Got 6 inches of snow and you need 4x4 or chains on tires to get safely to beach mountain and down during snow and ice. House could used a deep clean and dusting but overall clean and would stay there again. There is parking for 1 large vehicle and 1 small vehicle on even ground right at walkway into home so no major steps or steep hill unless you had more cars to park in the sloped driveway to garage. There were no paper towels & only 1 trash bag so bring some or purchase. Neighborhood is nice and quiet and great for walking in the morning to see deer. Hot tub lid needs a good cleaning but unit itself seemed clean. Nice home north of Banner Elk well stocked with cooking pans/pots, plates & utensils. Price could be a little lower (mainly fees) but worked for last minute trip.
This is a nice property that is very convenient to banner Elk. The view is long range and layered and is just outstanding. The place itself was excellent overall - a few minor things weren't working properly, but nothing significant, and overall a very comfortable place. Comfortable beds in reasonably spacious bedrooms. Outstanding kitchen, reasonably well stocked with dishes and utensils. We didn't ever turn on any of the three TVs but they looked nice. Pool table and hot tub were nice bonuses after long days of hiking.
Like others have mentioned this place is gorgeous and you cannot beat the location and fireplace. The beds were comfortable and the living room and downstairs are large enough for 6-8 people to sit comfortable. The jacuzzi was awesome and the views from two bed rooms was gorgeous. The down stairs was a little cold but not terrible. Overall awesome stay and will definitely be back!!
The house is in a great location and has amazing views of the mountains.
The house also has a large hot tub and full size pool table which is why I choose this property! I look forward to staying here again. Only item I would recommend is a way to heat the downstairs part of the house. We looked for the thermostat but only found one upstairs and it didn’t seem to do much for the downstairs. We only stayed for two nights so it wasn’t a big deal and we also didn’t ask the property management about it so maybe we just didn’t know what we were doing. Again, overall a great time and we looked forward to coming back!

Review of Fox Crossing
We had such an amazing stay here! We are already planning on trip back for next year. The house was beautiful and we were so surprised with how equipped with kitchen supplies and towels it was. The town was so cute and we spent the weekend on Sugar Mountain. My only "issue" with this house was that the hottub level was a little low. When there was 6 of us in there, the water level was perfect, but when there were only 2/3 of us in there, it was a little too low. Other than that we can't wait to come back next year!

WiFi wasn't working upon arrival, but got it working. Lock to front door with code was not working. We had to use the manual key. Toilet in shared bathroom ran and needs to be fixed. Basement was cold and appeared to not be heated.

Fox crossing worked out well. Probably the only issues we had were hot water wasn't quite hot enough and the back door in the master bedroom did not lock. The fitted sheets in the master bedroom had stains on it.The house was very spacious and accommodating and really well decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed in it also and the location was great.

Excellent experience
I had a great experience while staying. The cabin was very clean and met my expectations. I would highly recommend staying here. I did find some very small things in disrepair the bridge cue for the pool table was broke and the cord to open the blinds in the living room was also broke but very small issues.

fox crossing cabin
Cabin was very comfortable, clean and homey. Lots of road noise I'm sure its even worse when leaves off the trees. This was our 4th Carolins Cabin stay and this was our least favorite because of noise and closeness to road.

Couldn't have picked a better cabin!!
Cabin: I don't know if I can say enough great things about Fox Crossing!! We have a rather large family (2 adults and 4 kids) and everyone had their "important cabin must haves". Well, this cabin had everything!! Large enough living room for everyone to lounge, a large dining table and bar, gorgeous kitchen with nice cookware, bathrooms had great water pressure, beds were all clean and the pool table was a HUGE HIT, as was the Hot Tub!! Not to mention large enough for everyone to disperse and has full cable and wifi!
Rental Company: I have to say.. I was worried about how difficult it would be for check in/out and dealing with a rental company. But WOW!! was it EASY with Carolina Cabin Rentals!! They have this amazing door lock that allows you to just put in a code and bam, you're in! No having to go to an office to get keys or drive across town for check out. Your code just expires at the end of your stay. We will not rent from another company again. We are Carolina Cabin Rental customers for life!
Area: We stayed at this cabin in mid March. So we weren't really sure what we would be able to do. Since the slopes had all closed down, due to warm weather... But yet it was still entirely too cold to do other activities (20s-low 40s). Well, we still had a BLAST!! With 4 boys, ages 12, 9 and 3 year old twins... We ventured out and talked to the locals for advice on where to go. We ended up checking out the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, walking some of their gorgeous trails and checking out the dam and rapids, driving out and hiking to Elk River Falls (INSANE BEAUTIFUL) and down to Linville Caverns. I would highly recommend all of those sites! As well as some of the local restaurants!! In addition, all of the locals were extremely friendly and helpful.
Overall, we LOVED this cabin, rental company and area!!!
Our boys are already begging us to go back and all of our friends are asking for the cabin link, after seeing our trip pictures!
If you're considering Fox Crossing... I say GO FOR IT!!
