"This is a unique property with a gorgeous view. We loved the clawfoot jacuzzi tub in our room, as well as the steam/shower enclosure. Bed was very comfortable. We just needed a place to sleep one night near Julian, but this place operates more like a retreat center. The staffperson who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. It was my husband's birthday, so he started listing all of the things they could offer us that we could/should do to celebrate. At first I figured he was just being helpful and enthusiastic. But then it started to really feel like a lot of upselling. He offered lava cake, pushed the food, tried to set us up with massage and reiki treatments, said he was going to book us for a private jacuzzi/sauna session... these things seemed like lovely gestures but it wasn't clear what the fees might be, if any. I just said that we would take all the info to the room and decide what, if any of these many offerings, we would take him up on. Once we got to our room and saw that we had a steam shower and great jacuzzi tub in the room - plus there was an outdoor jacuzzi nearby that any guest could use - we didn't understand why we would need the private jacuzzi/sauna package that he insisted he book for us. So I asked, and turns out, of course there was a fee for that, but he never mentioned it until I asked. This is what put me off. Do not tell me you are going to book something for me that will incur a fee, without even asking me if I want it, or revealing the fee."

"Our third time staying at this cabin and just as wonderful an experience as the first couple times, we really enjoyed spending time in the covered front deck watching birds for hours. It was a great location to visit ample outdoor areas and still visit some great restaurants in nearby communities. We stayed here while running the San Diego 100m and it’s a fanatic location very close to the start/finish line and easy drive to aid stations. Love this location and highly recommend!"

"Disappointed with the lack of aesthetics at the pool and it was filthy. Lots of floating dead bees, mosquitos, and other insects. Also, the water spigot at our site was dispensing brown water. And our site had a sewer lid where you can smell the stench"

"This was the bad experience I have ever had as soon as I walk inside the cottage.. It was so stink and smelly. I had to drive back to town and purchase the air freshener and emptied the hole air freshener in the room. Refrigerator was making noise. I even couldn’t sleep at night And definitely climbing the ladder I had my head right on the ceiling was the most difficult challenge to go to bed I do believe they have to take care of their BEDBUG because ALL night till morning, my both legs, and my neck was bitten by.Bug and also the cover they have above the bed. It is very unsafe and it fell on my head and it is very unsafe. The owner can doublecheck that and he knows what I’m talking about and also there is no Internet connection and no TV no radio and basically I run away from the place. I checked in around 5:30 and i left at 6 AM next day. Definitely not a place to go back and I know my money was much wasted and I will be cautious next time. i’m very sorry, but this is my honest and sincere opinion."
