Excellent rural area but well connected by an hourly bus to Lake Titisee. Other services available if required Hotel is only a 20 minute mostly downhill walk to Lake Titisee but steep uphill back. Hence bus recommendation. We had a comfort room with a balcony big enough for 2 chairs supplied with cushions. Good size room. The mattress was a little hard for our taste. The car park always had spaces. The garden area good. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant but always opted to choose in the evening from the menu. Cosy restaurant with a good atmosphere. Breakfast was good. Very friendly helpful staff

Great location, fantastic chef/owner who is very personable and always cares about the patrons. Been returning to this hotel for the past 8 years. The food, wine pairing are incredible reflecting the talent and the passion of the owner. Wonderful Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany, on the edge of the Black Forest. Spa and pool complete the package and its location ideal for a short stop to continue travel to France, north or south Germany or for spending a few days exploring Freiburg.

The pool was great, but we couldn't use it or the jacuzzi on our last morning because of an Aquafit class. Although the check-in was efficient we were not told about the Konus Card available to visitors for free train and bus travel in the Black Forest. We learnt of this in the local tourist information office, but only after we had checked out. The use of a fan in the non-aircon room would have been a bonus.
