"Only two reasons for not getting 5 stars; no plug sockets by the bed… why? Had to charge my phone across the room. They had USB sockets but not all devises use USB! The second reason is the shuttle is £4 each way… I think that’s too much. Apart from these things though, great hotel. It’s clean and modern. The check-in was quick and efficient and the staff friendly and helpful. "

"Clean, spacious & comfortable room. Warm and friendly welcome, delicious breakfast with excellent choices. The only negative was the shower (room 575). It had very little water pressure and no hot water, pretty much unusable. As a solo traveller it wasn’t the end of the world but couples and families may have struggled. "

"We made use of the wellness centre that was clean and well stocked with towels. The meal we had in the restaurant was delicious and they were able to cater for my food allergy with ease. The location is a little out from the centre which is ideal for quietness and if you drive to the hotel. It’s circa £10-15 for a taxi from the train station. Would we stay again? Absolutely!"

"Nice with ac, really nice staff"

"A really good welcome and a free car park (once reg entered onto system at Reception). The double room was large and clean. As this is a heritage building, there is an impressively sloping - and creaking/squeaking - floor. Luckily, I couldn’t hear much from the function room below, and nothing from the bar. But a lot of noise from other room’s plumbing and doors slamming can be heard in the room. Plus there is light from under the main room door so it may not be fire-safe. I’d recommend bringing ear plugs. There’s an extensive ‘pub grub’ menu available on-site, and plenty of eateries nearby including a chippy opposite. Sainsbury’s is under 5 mins walk too. "
