"Such a lovely place! The bedroom was spacious with a wonderfully comfy bed, and in room coffee bags, fresh milk and cake on arrival. Felt very spoilt! And to cap it all, breakfast was absolutely excellent."

"We received a lovely warm welcome. Lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. Lovely comfortable rooms with small en suite bathroom. Big plus for me was the kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Will definitely book again when coming to Devon."

"Receptionist was very friendly and welcoming at check-in. The room was spacious and clean with a large bathroom and tub, very welcome after traveling on the train. Tea and coffee was available in the room, which was most appreciated. The staff throughout the hotel were always friendly and accommodating."
"Overall a very good experience, location perfect with nothing but the sound of the sea and fantastic views.
Slight criticism over the quality of the 'English Breakfast' which did not appear to be cooked individually but 'assembled' from pre-cooked. The other restaurant food was truly excellent and imaginative, well done to the evening chef. Will come again."
"A very relaxing 1 night stay. A very clean and modern furnished venue, which offered 2 swimming pools, restaurant and bar. The weather was beautiful, so the outside pool was greatly received.
The hotel was easily located and within easy distance to the coastal resorts."
"Very comfortable bed and all staff most helpful, Hotel could do with an update including air conditioning a must if our summers are going to continue to get hotter and of course air conditioning can also be used as heating in the winter instead of out dated gas boilers."
"A warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Had a first class room in the old house. Could not have wished for more. The restaurant offered great food including local seafood and excellent steaks. All sensibly priced. This in one hotel we shall be recommending to friends and returning ourselves. Faultless."
"As per previous reviews, it could do with a refurb but for the cost, we feel it was good value for money. Great location, lovely views from our room and close to local shops and restaurants.
One suggestion I would make is concerning the lack of available power sockets in the room. These could be changed out to combined usb and socket to allow the charging of phones and using the kettle/ hairdryer etc. quick fix.
Parking was a bit confusing, it states that hotel has a limited car park but it isn’t managed by the hotel. Perhaps a map of parking options be included on the info sheet given at check in would be useful. When you have been travelling for 5 hours, you just want to get settled asap
Overall we had a lovely stay in ilfracombe."
