About this property
Mountain Thunder 2BR — Gondola Walkway + Heated Pool View
Direct underground walkway to the BreckConnect Gondola — that is the first thing to know about Mountain Thunder Lodge, and the reason so many Breckenridge repeat guests come back to this building specifically. From your unit door to the BreckConnect Gondola cabin, you never step outside. From the gondola, Peak 8 base is a short ride, and Peaks 7, 9, and 10 open up from there. Main Street Breckenridge — Hearthstone, Briar Rose, Empire Burger, the Riverwalk Center, Country Boy Mine tickets — is short walk in the other direction. That combination of ski access and town access is unusual for a Breck condo at this price point, and it is the whole reason this unit exists on VRBO.
THE SPACE This 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite sleeps up to 7 and lives large for its footprint. The open-concept great room centers on a stone gas fireplace with a mounted television above, alpine finishes, and a private balcony overlooking the heated outdoor pool courtyard — a pool-view balcony that becomes an après-ski feature you don't expect until you use it. The fully equipped kitchen has granite counters, stainless-steel appliances, a full-size range, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, blender, and cookware and dinnerware for the full guest count. Breakfast-bar seating for three; dining table for six. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and a full bath directly adjacent. Bedroom 2 has a king bed and a second full bath. The living-room sofa sleeper accommodates additional guests without turning the room into a hallway. In-unit washer and dryer. Central heat. Cable television and Wi-Fi throughout.
WINTER SKI ACCESS Mountain Thunder Lodge's direct underground walkway to the BreckConnect Gondola is the differentiator. You leave your unit in ski boots, take the elevator down, and walk climate-controlled to the gondola cabin — no crossing a street with a snowboard, no waiting for a shuttle. From the top of the gondola, Peak 8 base spreads out with the SuperConnect, Colorado SuperChair, and Rocky Mountain SuperChair feeding the mid-mountain terrain. Breckenridge is a 2,908-skiable-acre resort spanning Peaks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, with the Imperial Express reaching 12,840 feet — the highest chairlift in North America. On snow days when the mountain is on wind hold, the town shuttle from the corner runs to Peak 9 base in minutes, and Copper Mountain is 25 minutes west on I-70. In-building ski storage keeps gear off your carpet.
THE LOCATION Mountain Thunder Lodge sits at the north end of Park Avenue, one block from Main Street. Walk to dinner at Hearthstone, Briar Rose, Twist, Cabin Juice, Kenosha Steakhouse, Modis, and Aurum Food & Wine. Coffee at Cuppa Joe or Clint's. Groceries at City Market up the road. Winter events are within walking distance: Ullr Fest in January, the International Snow Sculpture Championships in late January, and the Christmas Market at Blue River Plaza on December weekends. Non-alpine days: Stephen C. West Ice Arena for skating, Country Boy Mine for a winter tour, the Breckenridge Nordic Center for cross-country and snowshoe trails, and dog-sledding through Alpine Adventures.
GILSON CONCIERGE Managed by Gilson Property Group — a professional hospitality team, not an individual host. Winter concierge menu includes ski and snowboard rental delivery through Christy Sports or Charter Sports (rentals waiting at the unit when you arrive), private grocery pre-arrival, in-unit chef service, dinner reservations at the tables that book out weeks ahead, snowmobile tours, sleigh rides, dog-sledding, and lift-ticket pre-purchase. Ask through the Gilson guest portal or the VRBO messenger before arrival so we can hold the slots.
GUEST ACCESS Entry is by keypad with your unique code delivered through the Gilson guest portal before arrival. No lockbox, no front-desk queue. Drive directly into the underground heated garage, park in your assigned space, take the elevator to your floor, and enter your unit with the code. The Gilson guest portal handles a brief pre-arrival ID verification and delivers your unit number, parking space number, Wi-Fi password, and walkway directions. Late arrivals use the same code.
MANAGEMENT Gilson Property Group manages this residence professionally on behalf of the owner. We give guests their space. If you need us — property questions, local recommendations, concierge requests — we are reachable through the VRBO messenger and respond fast.
BEFORE YOU BOOK — WINTER NOTES Primary renter must be 25 or older. Damage protection replaces the traditional security deposit, so there is no hold placed on your card. It is offered at checkout and may be declined; guests who decline accept responsibility for any damage claims.

Absolutely amazing stay at this property! The two bedroom / two bath floorplan made it perfect for everyone to have their own space and get a good night’s rest-very comfortable beds! We enjoyed being close enough to town put situated in a very quiet area. The garage parking was an added bonus. Thank you for an amazing stay! We can’t wait to return!
Wonderful location—close to town, but still quiet. Owner was very responsive and replaced hair dryers that didn’t on the same morning we told the they were broken.
Condo was clean and well stocked. Beds we're comfortable.Good location. 10 minute walk to gondola and then ski back to condo. Highly recommend this condo.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Mountain Thunder condo. The location was ski in off of Four o'clock & was probably the closest walk to catch the Gondola up to Peak 8. We utilized the shuttle for family sledding day at Carter park & several family dinners out in downtown Breck. They were great. We did alot of cooking & the kitchen was well appointed. The Grandbabies loved the pool & hot tubs located right there. We will definitely stay again!
We had an amazing stay! The location was perfect with easy access to the gondola and Main Street. We didn’t ski in but met several people in the building that said it was easy to do and we should consider it next time. There will definitely be a next time!
We loved our stay in Breck! It was a very nice townhome with everything we needed. We went on a last minute trip for a much needed getaway. We were out and about most of the day but just came back here to chill at night. It was very homey and comfy and had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. I would come back!

Check in directions were incorrect. Specifically, instructions had us go to the wrong building to retrieve the room key. Stay was promised garage parking. No spaces except for ADA were available. VRBO advertised bedroom two containing two beds. Second bed was a fold-out bed that would not fit in bedroom two. Management said it could go in the master or living room. Living room would not accommodate it with sofa sleeper pulled out. Linens for spare bed were dirty. Luckily there were extra linens and we could use the sofa bed. Communication with management was difficult when we were checking in. I dialed the on-call number, had a difficult time understanding the person’s accent, and the staff was unable to help me find the key. The gentlemen said he would call me back but never did. We fortunately were able to alert the on-site staff was able to suggest looking for the key in the other building’s lobby.
