Perfect location to walk, talk and relax
Thanks for letting us stay in your cosy, warm home. Perfect for exploring walks and small towns. The house was large enough for 6 adults to enjoy catching up and had everything you’d need for a perfect stay.

Get together in Brecon
Great open plan living/social space downstairs however upstairs whilst spacious presented its challenges. Too much light in master bedroom during the night from bathroom windows/skylight. Had to turn on the bathroom light when going to the loo waking partner! Separate lights perhaps? Bath towels very small and we are average height /build. A memory foam mattress is not to our liking and the duvet was quite heavy for this time of year. Very well equipped kitchen and social /entertainment facilities including Now TV. We did move one sofa so all guests faced the TV better. Quiet location and within walking distance to The Griffin Pub-Nice food. Local shop closes at 5pm-worth advising guests if arriving after 5pm -we drove back to Brecon for Breakfast supplies.

3 nights in the Wye Valley
We really liked the set up. Contemporary and well maintained. Spacious warm and inviting and well equipped Interesting art and comfortable bedrooms. A pub just over the river and a shop across the road. The Wye is right there and we had an excellent 7 mile circular walk along the river and over the moorland. Also a magic meal at THE. GRiffin at Felin Fach A really great pre Xmas catch up with old friends. Oh and Hay is just a few miles away. Top.

Had a great week in this light, well-equipped and spacious house. Good base for quiet times and visits to local towns as well as having paddleboarding, kayaking, mountain walking etc close by. A big bonus was being able to walk to the river to swim - lovely!

Hidden gem
Wonderful stay in an amazing part of Wales. Well located with river 2 minutes away, hills, mountains, towns, beaches and activities for the adventurous nearby. Two weeks and still not enough time to do everything. Richard was very responsive to contact yet not intrusive, and we appreciated the fans provided for the heatwave. Lovely house, light-filled, well stocked kitchen just like home from home. Stairs may be a little hard for those with mobility difficulties. Plenty of bathrooms :) so no delays to getting out to explore! If you are lucky to see the starry dark skies then you have hit the jackpot! Highly recommend a stay here, wish it could of been longer.

Lovely spacious building in a nice area of the Wye Valley
We stayed as a group of 6x adults and two dogs. Good Stuff: Location in relation to the NCN8, the river and the Wye Valley Trail; Proximity to good pubs; The owl that hoots when it gets dark; The light as it trails through the house in the daytime; 4 (!) toilets; Space in the house to store bikes and other sports equipment safely; Good parking; BBQ; Dog friendly; Dishwasher; The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans; The wifi was excellent, even loaded with 6x adults worth of useage; The games and books in the house were great for the indoor days; The space between the bedrooms; the local villagers were a delight to chat to. Less good stuff (being niggly - but hopefully helpful): Bathtowels were old and marked and moved water around rather than dried your body (bring your own); Check out time on a Monday was difficult to observe with the complicated Recycle bin day obligations and covidy 'Strip the beds' routine. Rather than a relaxed departure it was pretty fraught. An extra 30 minutes might make it a bit more managable. The electric hob was really tricky to cook on. Either too cold or too hot and no where in between, at points I would have given anything for my induction hob. Overall we really enjoyed the stay. I would definitely recommend this little piece of Wye Valley bliss, just make sure you bring the cooking oil (!) and some spare toilet rolls, and be prepared to watch over your boiling pasta like a hawk! :)

Fantastic location
What a great location to use as a base for canoeing, cycling, mountain climbin and general exploration. My only slight niggles would be that it is on a corner and so gets road noise from two sides - hence rated 4/5.

Great stay in Boughrood
This property is great for families with a large groundfloor entertaining space, deck and lawn. Its well equipped with everything we needed and is made very bright and colourful by its ecclectic art collection. Its situated perfectly for walks down the Wye Valley trail and for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. Only downside would be that the property situated in a small residential area and is slightly (but not very) overlooked. The property would also benefit from a good window clean (although appreciate there's a lot of glass to maintain!)
Response from VrboOwner on 23 Jun 2021
Hi Nathan Glad you had a good stay. Little confused by being overlooked though. We lived there for 10 years and can't see how anyone can see in the property or garden. Thats the reason we refrained from having curtains downstairs. You're right the windows can be a tricky to keep spotless as the house is designed to let lots of light in. (Y Golau is Welsh for light :), especially with little children's paw prints, we will address the issue though. Richard

Great few days away...
... despite the great British weather (torrential rain!) we had a great couple of days staying here with our dogs. Lovely visit from Ros who provided local info on walks and pubs. House is lovely and bright; and super warm. Lovely long walks up the mountain and by the side of the river. Even managed to buy a lovely homemade cake for my grans birthday from the local shop across the road!

Lovely stay
Lovely property , lovely location . The river is absolutely stunning, and the house is clean with lots of equipment available. Kids loved it...and the bed is really comfy too 2 suggestions if i may. 1. Do bring provision as the corner shop do close but there is a esso just a short drive away. 2. If a map is provided for the route to get on the river it would been most helpful.... Took us a ehile to find the gate!
