"The Railway Hotel Heyfield is a fabulous hotel! In a prime position and with a welcoming staff it’s an ideal place to stay… My siblings and partners have just enjoyed a weekend bike ride -the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail- and stayed for 2 nights in Heyfield at the hotel. We had one of the happiest, comfortable and memorable weekends we could remember. Dinners on both Friday and Saturday nights were delicious! The staff were friendly and most helpful during our stay. We thank them for the hospitality and look forward to a return visit when we come back to do the ride again!! Ps The Gippsland Plains Rail Trail is fantastic!!"

"I've stayed at The Star Hotel several times now. My son is based at the RAAF Base, East Sale and The Star Hotel is very convenient as far as distance to the base, close to town and on site parking. All the staff are very friendly and professional. Anita, Nikki, Tanya and Jess always go out of their way to make my stay comfortable. "

"Pros: -large space inside the house -Carport was useful -Easy car access to Sale town centre -Laundry facilities are good -Quiet location Cons: - poor communication from host on arrival, no info pack anywhere in the house. - very noisy aircon, basically unusable - Towels were rough and well used - very tired decor, needs full revamped - windows difficult to close - outside and inside woodwork needs painting - windows need to be washed - toilet door can’t be opened from the inside if shut. Be warned! - kitchen area could be better cleaned on arrival. - no attention to details eg toilet seat doesn’t fit the wc! - lots mis-advertising in the website. Dining chairs are actually garden chairs, not black faux leather chairs as shown. Dining table also different from photo. Website shows double bedroom with side table has bedside light on right side of bed but actually there is no available socket on that side. Misleading! - ceiling light has no light fitting. Just bare bulbs! - broken rear door restraint. -shower cubicle shampoo holder unusable due to poor suction cups not working. "
