Modern Fisherman's Cottage with Stunning Uninterrupted Views of the Moray Firth

This beautifully built modern property is directly opposite one of the best secluded sandy beaches in Findochty, and has stunning views of the Moray Firth. In the 1800's fishing was conducted from this natural inlet and this is also where the famous painting 'Home With The Tide' was painted by James Clarke Hook, which currently hangs in the Tate Gallery. The house provides the perfect place for relaxation and unwinding. Spend some time wandering through the historic fishing streets and walk along to the marina to watch it's creel and pleasure boats, then amble up to the cliff tops to take in the panoramic views or even a spot of dolphin watching! There are other beaches within easy walking distance and opportunities to be more active with cycling, golfing and sailing nearby.

Everything about our stay was fantastic, the property was excellent, in a great location with sea views, and our own little beach. In the village there's a lovelly harbour, a well stocked shop and a pub that serves great meals. We did'nt see any dolphins, maybe next time.

I had a really perfect stay at the cottage. The property itself is well equipped and really homely and the location is just amazing. Watched the dolphins right from the house, saw amazing sunsets and dipped in the sea at the cove. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed.

Fantastic location

We had a great stay. The cottage had everything we needed, plus the lovely view. Findochty is a very photogenic village, so I was out and about taking photos at all hours! On our arrival we were welcomed by dolphins frolicking in the sea in front of the cottage. The evening before our departure we were treated to the sight of a pod of orcas cruising past, quite close to the shore.

Wonderful short break

We had a wonderful stay at the Hythe cottage, lots of beautiful beaches and woodland walks. The Admiral pub is fantastic and lets dogs in the bar and lounge. Thank you to the owners, the cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, we will be back.

Excellent stay all round! Lovely house, with a superb location opposite the beach, in a cracking little village. Great reception from the locals who made us welcome and gave advice on pubs, restaurants and places to visit. Will definitely be back!
