"A lovely little cabin by a lake at the back of the owner's house (great distance between. Felt secluded and peaceful. Was great waking up and feeding the chickens, guinea fowl, geese and ducks with a cup of tea looking at the lake. A great spot to unplug and relax. Fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, central heating, cooker, kettle etc. a few more utensils would be handy. Highly recommend a stay here and the owners, Amanda and Barry are friendly, helpful and good folk."

It was great seeing Sherry again - and she remembered me by name! I marked down cleanliness because the toilet was not clean for my arrival. I am not blaming the cleaners, as when I flushed it, there was minimal flow of water (who remembers putting a brick in the cistern to save water!). The only way to flush it ws to shut the lid first. Perhaps a check just before the room is used would be helpful. Fish pie looked unusual and I asked for a spoon for the sauce - it was lovely. Scotch egg...

We were so impressed with our stay at Hideout Apartments. The apartments are brand new and I could not find fault at all. The little touches of filtered coffee, teabags, biscuits and milk in the fridge were great. Cooking facilities included a microwave, oven, grill and hob and all utensils were provided too. The apartment was so spacious with lots of seating. The decor was beautiful, clean & modern. Would definitely stay here again.

Modern hotel (rebuilt or refitted after fire, so I understand). Large bedroom with minimal furnishing, so looked very modern. One double-glazed panel missing so road noise was high. On main road traffic junction so convenient and noisy. No soap in hand soap dispenser. Only noticed after first day, not replenished after second when I left. No shelf over basin - was one but not there now (after only a couple of years?). Breakfast is only continental but includes everything reasonable...
