"I stayed in this property with my wife, son, daughter-in-law and 5 month old grandchild.The lock box was a little tricky to open as the after entering the code the little lever was difficult to get a grip on and push down as well as pulling out the lock box door, but eventually I managed to get it open.The property was very clean and well prepared for our arrival with tea/coffee etc.A couple of pointers for future stays.Dishwasher tablets were left for us with washing up liquid and hand soap…but...

"We stayed for the one night, glad it wasn’t more. The living room stank of mould from the leather sofas. There were cobwebs all over the place. There was mould all over the upstairs bathroom. "Just stayed overnight. Nice hotel in great location. Only ten minute walk to the lanes or old part of Brighton. We paid for an upgrade to our room and got a larger bed thankfully. The room was nice and clean. Had everything except a fridge. When we first checked in reception was very busy about 9 people waiting for only two staff - they were doing their best. We parked our car in the car park for £24 which was fine but the spaces are very tight for large cars. Had breakfast there which was standard but the pastries and croissants were stale. The coffee machine served cold latte. "

What’s not to like

"Excellent hotel, good location, friendly staff. Some parts a little tired, but no different to many of the hotels along the front. They are all large Victorian buildings. It was everything we expected and we weren’t disappointed. It would have been nice if reception could have alerted us before we arrived that there are extensive roadworks going on in front and to the side of the hotel. This meant that we had difficulty locating the car park which is to the rear of the hotel. The only access was down a one way street driving in the wrong direction! Ok if you know the other end is blocked, but this was our first time. "
