Joan and Eamonn were excellent hosts. Joan found us a cancellation on a boat going to Skellig Michael, and Eamonn provided several suggestions of places to eat in town. My husband and I stayed three nights in room 4, which was very spacious and clean. Breakfasts were large and good. In addition to Skellig Michael, which was worth the 75 euros each, we visited the Kerry cliffs outside Portmagee, did the Bray Head loop hike on Valentia Island, and explored the stone forts across the inlet from Cahersiveen. The B&B is about 3km from town, but it is an easy drive. There are a number of eateries. We tried the pub at the Ring of Kerry Hotel (across from the largest grocery store in town), the Oratory Pizza and Wine Bar (great atmosphere and excellent thin crust pizza), and The Fertha pub (enjoyed a very good stir fry).
