The Shore House is in a fantastic position next to the sea lock and with wonderful views of the hills either side. Liz and Billy were excellent hosts. We had an excellent breakfast. No hesitation in stopping at the Shore House again.

Alison and Mark, owners/hosts are amazing. Nothing was too much for them. I don't drive. Both offered to drive to the village to the shops if I needed anything. If you're driving from the Glasgow direction it's best to take the second Cairndow exit, as the hotel is very close to that end. If you enter from the first turn you have to drive a longer distance on a narrow single-track road.

The hotel is loch-side, but toward one end. Given recent weather patterns, this unfortunately meant that the water was quite low and the view was spoiled by the sludgy residue that stretched for a good distance from the normal shore.
