The room and hotel was quite scenic and clean. Central location with supermarket downstaris. The staff were extremely nice and attentive. However, while it was appreciated, it felt like there was little privacy in the property. The breakfast was good. The bathroom was outside the room and it was a bit difficult to lock and use. By the time we check out the bathroom door lock was broken. Fast hot water and the hotel provided heater and good blanket for the winter.

Once they found out booking and found the correct room it was actually quite nice. Not alot of water pressure but that's like most places in Cairo. Good wifi and nice balcony. It's located on the 19th floor so you can hardly hear the traffic beeping. Would go back again

I booked an 18-day stay through Expedia and ended up leaving 5 days early due to a change in plans. I personally informed the hotel manager 3 days before my departure and clearly requested a refund for the unused nights. He agreed and told me to wait until the booking processed and to follow up at the end of the month. When I followed his instructions, he first delayed the process saying he was on vacation. After he returned, he told me to contact Expedia instead. Expedia attempted multiple times to reach the hotel but received no response. Eventually, once they did get in touch, the manager denied the refund entirely — contradicting what he had personally promised me. This was extremely unprofessional and dishonest. If the refund was not possible, that should have been clearly stated from the beginning — not after weeks of delay and avoidance. I trusted the manager’s word and was misled. I would strongly recommend future guests get any early checkout agreements in writing. Very disappointing experience.

Nile X hostel is a very nice home for me. Due to some unexpected mistake, I got stuck in Cairo for extended days. I was very lucky to stay in both Zamalek X hostel and Nile X hostel for more than 10 days. The business owner, hostel managers and staff are super nice and friendly. The hostel is very clean. The location is also very convenient, if you like to visit some popular historic attractions. Even in very bad traffic hours, there is no problem to find uber come and go from the hostel. There is a very nice supermarket down stairs, that is very similar to American supermarket. From the balcony, you can see the Nile River. It is in a very safe neighborhood, with Sheraton Hotel and some other high end business center is the close vicinity. I highly recommend this hostel.
