I recently stayed at the Valencia Hotel in downtown Cairo for four nights, with an initial booking for a "Superior Room with city view and King size bed." However, my experience did not quite match the expectations set by the hotel's advertisement.
Upon arrival, I was informed that the superior room was not available, leading to my first night being spent in a "family" room. This room fell short of expectations, offering poor amenities.
The next day, I was switched to another room, but it still did not align with the description of my original booking. Contrary to the promised king-size bed and city view, I found myself in a room with a queen-size bed and no view of the city.
One of the most significant drawbacks of my stay was the lack of room cleaning and daily toiletries. The carpet is quite filthy.
For those who rely on internet connectivity, whether as digital nomads or for casual use, the hotel’s internet connection was disappointingly inadequate. The poor internet service proved to be a major inconvenience, especially for guests needing to work or stay connected during their travels.
On a positive note, the hotel's location is indeed advantageous, being close to several landmarks in downtown Cairo. However, this benefit comes with a downside. The area is bustling with activities, and the nighttime noise was a constant presence in my room, which can be disturbing for guests seeking a peaceful night's sleep.
