  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

Nice, Ironman friendly, hotel.

A great hotel right next to the beach. Stayed here for Ironman Barcelona, it is in a perfect spot and the hotel staff know how to look after racers.

Lovely location and proximity to the beach. However it's quite a long way from the train station, yet very close to the noisy train line. Rooms very nice and comfortable, breakfast superb. Staff very efficient and helpful.

Amazing hotel, great location, excellent staff and service everyone was kind and helpful. Everything is close by and had a Wonderful experience. Booked 11 night’s and wish we could have stayed longer! Impeccably clean, the rooms were nice, beds were comfortable. The staff at check in was outstanding and any questions that we had they went out of their way to help us. We paid for breakfast with our booking which was very pleasantly surprised at the spread they had prepared. So many options, and all of it delicious. The staff kept the area clean, clear of dishes and were very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is rated at 4*, but would rate it at no more than 3. Location is 4* stars. The building seems like it’s been renovated and it looks modern. However, our biggest issue with the property, and the room we had, was the air conditioning was almost completely ineffective. The room was extremely small for 3 people, beds and pillows were uncomfortable, the bathroom floor was leaking something that appeared like toilet water. When we complained the staff tried hard to please all the guests. However, they refused to give us our money back if we checked out early as we had pre- booked 10 days. Breakfast was acceptable for the price. No pool towels and pool was small. Rooftop was nice. But adults only. Spa area was great. You had to pay extra for safety deposit box. If the a/c worked I would consider staying at the bigger family rooms or rooms with a view she had nice big balconies. The temperatures outside were over 30 degrees Celsius. And very humid. But it would have been nice to have some reprieve in the room.

I give a rating of 4 only because there was no toilet brush. I would also like normal blankets and bed linen in the room, the pillows are too small, the bed linen is also bad. I would like delicious coffee at breakfast. coffee that was undrinkable. BUT: despite the listed disadvantages of the room, there is a huge plus, it is a balcony overlooking the sea, the beach is a 1-minute walk, the view is mesmerizing ❤️ the hotel staff is amazing, I would especially highlight the reception Carmen and the service of George and Albert. The guys work at 5 , they made our vacation more enjoyable, helped us navigate the area and always gave us advice on everything. at breakfast, lunch and dinner there is food for every taste, even the picky ones will find something to eat, in addition to the buffet there is also an electric grill where you can always get a portion of a burger or meat or fish, and for breakfast fried eggs, pancakes and Viennese waffles. on the roof of the hotel there is a solarium and a jacuzzi, as well as sun loungers, on the -1st floor there is also a swimming pool, sauna and massage, not far from the hotel, the old town and the center, very beautiful. 10 minutes from the hotel there is a train station from where you can get to the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona, ​​in an hour 😍 3 minutes walk from the hotel there is a bus stop, you can easily get to the airport for a price of 10 euros and to Barcelona. In general, we fell in love. Many thanks to all staff ❤️

Great hotel, great location, right across from the beach. The check in and check out staff were super nice, felt very welcome. I don’t speak Spanish and the were very patient and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. And breakfast was a great deal and was very good.

Amazing! Hotel looks exactly like the pictures. It is very clean, quiet and new. Great location right next to the beach, train station, all the shops and restaurants in the town. Tony at the front desk was great! Very professional and fun. Definitely worth the money. This would be my place to stay every time I visit. Compared to all the places on that strip, this is the best one.

Séjour très agréable

Séjour très agréable hôtel et chambre très propre. Le personnel de la restauration est au top des personnes très agréable et sympathique. La nourriture excellente avec du choix. La piscine le jacuzzi le solarium au top. Le personnel du ménage aussi au top. Nous avons eu un soucis avec notre chambre et la directrice a fait le nécessaire afin de nous changer de chambre et même surclassé. Merci beaucoup. Un petit mot sur l accueil ses personnes pourraient être plus sympa car elle ne se décarcasse pas pour la clientèle. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Milles merci
