Overall nice place to stay, it is a long trip from the main roads to the house but the views are totally worth that long trip, it is also fully paved which is nice for motorcycle’s as that’s what we were there for
The cabin sets on the edge of a cliff with stunning views to the east, south, and west. You can enjoy sunrises and sunsets from the great deck or the fire pit. Huge windows allow you to see the views when the weather isn't great. Really, the views alone are worth a stay. The cabin itself is nice, with plenty of space for six. Gas fireplace. Nice, stocked kitchen. 3 bathrooms are a great help. Only warning, it's a drive back to it so make sure your vehicle is up for it if it's winter.
The views are amazing once you get up there. The road in is very narrow and if it was 1 way there wouldn't be a problem at all. This road is not one way and we just about had 2 accidents getting to the house. The road is well maintained but just very, very narrow.
Follow the signs and you will have no problems getting in. Just go slow and watch for oncoming traffic.
The house is comfortably furnished. There was an issue with drainage in the shower of the master bath so you have to shower quickly. The beds were comfortable.
This is our 4th yearly girls trip and this is the best view by far. The area is absolutely stunning and definitely worth the trip.
The location of this home is very central to everything. Food, zip lining, Rock Bottom jeep rentals(my personal favorite), SUP Kentucky kayaking, Natural Bridge and NADA tunnel.
In summary best location, best views hands down!!!! Worth every penny!!!!
Would love to go back there one day.
The location of this property is great for those that want solitude in the Kentucky Hills. We loved the view and the serenity of the point. Seven of us gals came to hike and kayak for the week. The location is close to several places to do that. It was hot (90s) in June. We requested more bath towels (only 1 per person was left) and housekeeping delivered more the next morning. The house is very nice but we thought the kitchen needed to be better stocked and some items such as pots and pans need to be replaced. We were disappointed that all the tiki torches were empty when we went to light them one evening. Overall it was enjoyable but I'm a detail oriented person and was slightly disappointed in those few things. Also, we were given only one key to the house. There is a pass code lock on the house and it would have been nice to check in at the house and have an additional key since we had a group of 7. Thank you for sharing your property with us. It is a very unique place to stay. The whippoorwills sing at night in the valley and sunrise and sunsets are awesome.

Amazing Views
Hands down, this place probably rivals ALL rentals for the amazing view! It truly is a gorgeous situation. And if that is enough to satisfy, then this is the place for you. However, if comfort and cleanliness are top priorities, along with convenience to local place, maybe consider other places. Pros: The water and water pressure, sufficient space, floor plan of the place, firepit location and setup.. Side-monkey: Outdoor hot tub never got to set temp, outdoor grill didn’t get to set temp which made for grilling times longer and a bit off, AC and heat temps were restricted to a narrow range in case you exhausted the unit. Cons: lots and lots of ladybugs so you’re bound to step on at least a few during the day, the kitchen was pretty gross. Most cooking items needed to be replaced, the hand soap pump didn’t work, the cabinets and drawers needed to be wiped down, the general ambience of the place with the current furniture felt very worn in. However, like I mentioned: the views are incredible! And if that is enough for you, then you’ve found your place. Also, like others mentioned… the drive is long and windy with a hint of treacherous if you’re not in an AWD. We were in an AWD and it was still a little scary at times, especially when another vehicle was passing you. It is really meant for one vehicle at a time. But again, for the 3rd and last time: AMAZING VIEWS!
The view is amazing!! Quiet and private. Cabin is nice. Only con we had was the air conditioner could not keep up in the late afternoon during early October. The back of cabin has a lot of windows and faces the sun all day. I can only imagine how hot it is in July and august. Regardless, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
If a view is your top priority - look no further! It is a true unobstructed view of the gorge. Peaceful & Private. The drive to the cabin is sketchy to say the least - but you are in the high hills of KY Hot Tub was only set @ 100 & couldn’t adjust the temp & had signage posted stating it was for “owner’s use” & not maintained by health dept - use at your own risk so we did not. Also limited control of the AC so if you prefer to sleep in cool temps bring a fan & plan to open windows@ night. Otherwise if you are cold blooded - heat works great! Cookware & Utensils are very random - but they’re scattered throughout cabinets. Bring your own cozy blankets as there was only (1) to be found throughout the whole place. Would have preferred a keyless entry option as you will have to pick up & drop off your key in Slade, KY; whether that is your travel route or not. But again - if a view is your top priority, you will not be disappointed as it is astonishingly beautiful.
The house was very nice, views were amazing, and it was overall a great experience. Would definitely stay again. The beds were comfortable, and the house was clean. We really enjoyed the Sonos sound system inside and outside the house.
A few minor areas where some improvement could be made. The shower in the master had a lot of black mold in the corners around the floor. The water pressure in the house was amazing, besides the hallway shower, where it was difficult for my wife to wash her hair in that shower. Listing said trash extra trash bags would be included, but there were none which was a minor inconvenience. Like I said though. I would stay there again, and would recommend to friends and family.
We have stayed in some pretty amazing vacation homes over the years, but the view from this one simply "takes the cake." When we arrived it had just rained on a hot day so there was fog and mist rising off the mountains and, of course, there was a magical mountain rainbow. It felt like we were on a Hawaiian island even though we were in the middle-of-nowhere Kentucky. The cliff that the house is perched on provides the perfect view of both sunrise, sunset and spectacular full moon views. Normally I would have to hike several miles to take in such a view, but with this place I simply had to roll out of bed, pour myself a cup of coffee and walk out the back door. Pure Heaven🥰!
It is also in a great location with tons of fun things to do in the area. We visited Natural Bridge State Park and did several hikes in the Red River Gorge area including the Sky Bridge Trail and the Sheltowee Trace Suspension Bridge trail to Jump Rock. If we had more time we probably would have also visited the underground caves and done some nearby ziplining.
The house itself was very clean, modern and well appointed with everything you could possibly need. We loved the open layout of the house and really enjoyed spending time on the back deck especially for sunrise and sunset. The wi-fi was also very reliable and the hot tub was a nice added feature as well.
The real showstopper of this property, however, is the simply amazing view! I could have sat and looked at that view the entire time and we plan to return simply to take in that view during the different seasons.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this truly magical property. We have already recommended it to several friends and family and we plan to return to this property again and again!
