"This was absolutely wonderful accommodation, it was by far the best place we stayed in for our 10 days in Newfoundland. There was no scrimping on anything...towels, blankets, pillows, coffee, dishes etc. The view was lovely. It was so quiet and peaceful. Bay Bulls is a terrific place to visit as well. "We loved our stay at Cliffs Edge Retreat! It is a beautiful ocean side resort with its main lodge and restaurant (Forager) and collection of cottages. It is conveniently located around 45 minutes from St. John's and only 30 minutes from Ferryland. We stayed in the main lodge in an ocean view studio suite, which was modern and beautifully decorated. The full kitchen was very well equipped, which we appreciated as we prepared several meals during our two night stay. Our end unit suite (L12) was located across from the laundry room and next to the exit door to the outdoor sauna, so we did hear some noise at times, but it wasn't too bothersome. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, but it was partially obstructed by one of the oceanfront cottages across the road. Suites L5, L7 and L9 would likely have the best balcony views and are located far enough away from the entrance doors on both ends of the hallway. There is a limited menu at the Forager Restaurant (which you will walk past to access your room). We didn't have a meal there, but their baked goods and coffee were excellent."
