"Lovely location, right on the East Coast Trail. Easy to find. Sauna was wonderful. Room was great - cooking facilities were nice to reduce eating out costs.
Could hear people in adjacent rooms (just everyday noises, they were not being particularly noisy/partying)."

East Coast Oceanfront Escape - Just 45 minutes South of St. John's City NL
10/10 Excellent
"We spent multiple nights at this place - the house was well equipped and clean. The host Christine was very responsive, friendly and attentive. The views from this house are amazing - we could see the summer sunrise right from the house. The weather in the Avalon peninsula can change drastically from day to day, so our previous to last day was super hot, and our last day was chilly, rained a bit and completely fogged the whole day. And this day there were whales in front of the house - we could hear them. Sadly the fog cleared up only in the evening. We still got to see multiple whales from the property itself, but they had moved a bit further.Great place, we recommend."
"Beautiful location only a short drive from St. John’s. The rooms were spacious and charming overlooking the ocean . We watched puffins from our hotel room.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant was steps away. The meal was excellent yet very casual environment. We returned to the café for breakfast. The baked goods were amazing. It was an extremely quiet place to sit enjoy the view and relax.."
"This inn in Bay bulls is the perfect place to settle down for the whales and puffin colony. I saw whales from my room every Day. Paula is a very attentive host and makes uou feel at home while giving privacy. The breakfast were tasty and my stay was perfect"
"The house was very clean and all necessities were provided as listed, from kitchen appliances to washroom supplies. A good distance from all attractions we had on our itinerary, locally and/or otherwise. The host was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The cottage was peaceful and secluded, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting NL."
"The property is very clean and cozy. Set back from the road and on a hill behind some trees it's very private and quiet. It is completely silent at night for a very restful sleep. The property is at the end of La Manche road which is a dead end road ending at the start of a great hiking path that leads to a very scenic area and suspension bridge. Breathtaking scenery. We arrived at about 1 am in pitch black and our GPS told us we arrived at our destination next to what appeared to be a driveway. After almost dumping the rental car into the lake and creeping about the other cabins on the road for some time we found the cabin.Advice for others looking to find this property in the dark... drive as far as you can to the end of the road. Then around and it's the 3rd driveway on the left.Thank you Jerry and Shirley for your prompt responses and suggestions on things to do in the area. We had a wonderful time on our first trip to Newfoundland."
"We were 8 days in this beautiful cottage at a great spot at the pond. There was a friendly welcome of delicious cakes. We found the house very complete and clean. We felt comfortabel and enjoyed our time. We definitely recommend this, also because of the nice area; Witless bay and the beautiful trails along the coast."
"My wife and I had such a wonderful four nights staying here at the end of June 2026! Very clean and comfortable with so many little conveniences. Very glad we checked out what was already provided before doing our groceries (at the super close supermarket).
Gordon was very easy to communicate with and helpful in every regard. A great host.
We were in the area to hike some of the nearby East Coast Trail segments: Beach, Tinker's Point, Spout, Mickeleen. We saw many, many whales from those paths! In retrospect, we should have made this a even longer part of our two weeks in Newfoundland."
