Our stay at “A Shore Thing” was wonderful. The house is clean, tidy, cutely decorated but minimalist. This is an appreciated feature when traveling with two young kids (ages 7 and 11) but it might not be everyone’s taste. While dated, it is in good, working condition. The house had just about everything we needed - washer/dryer did well (leave the closet door open when using the dryer for better airflow), coffeemaker, water filter, iron/ironing board, bed rails and large fan in closets. The kids were excited about the XBox (older version) but we were unable to get it to work. All was well because the internet was good for all of our devices on the rainy days. Otherwise, at two blocks from the beach, we were there or down at the pier fishing. Other reviewers mentioned ants but we had zero show up during our week here and stored our pantry items on microwave or on the fridge. The Location of this House is perfect with a quick walk to the beach, park, or Mason Ave to shops and restaurants. The one big thing that would be a nice change is a cover or awning on the beautiful back deck to allow extra outdoor seating as it is about the one house in town without a covered porch for sitting. In spite of that, we hope to return next year to this house as it was perfect for us and our expectations. We also enjoyed meeting Ms. Patty next door - a local that we made fast friends with. I highly recommend A Shore Thing - just don’t take our week! :)
