'Our Lady of Llanthony' The statue stands in front of the C19 monastery built by Father Ignatius and his monks and marks the vision of the Virgin Mary believed to have been seen by several of them near this spot in 1880. The view is across the Vale of Ewyas towards the most easterly ridge of the Black Mountains that marks the border between Wales and England.
