"Staff was friendly. No housekeeping during our stay. Room was very large and quite outdated. We noticed some reviews mentioning cockroaches but we decided to try it out. We found a few dead cockroaches during our stay. The room had a strange smell as well. The amenities were nice, we enjoyed a hula show and learn to hula class. We were allowed an early check in and they held our luggage after check out. Overall very average and they likely have a cockroach problem. "

We expected more from the Marriot brand. Room and bathroom was small with lime scale on the shower track and old chipped paint on door jams and other areas. The double queen room had a single nightstand between the beds. The website said the room was "oceanview (balcony)" which cost more. The ocean could only be seen from one chair on the balcony and that was very limited even when hanging your head over the balcony. Housekeeping was every other day. The location was very central and walkable to many restaurants and shops. Staff was very friendly. Especially at the pool. "

"This was the perfect place for us to stay while taking in the sites and enjoying in the activities of the Kona/Captain Cook area! The bed was very comfortable, everything was spotless, and the hosts were gracious. We greeted the sun every morning on the lanai with fresh coffee and a yummy breakfast--the passion fruit butter was my favorite! If you are looking for a place a little off the beaten track, this is the place for you!"
