"Overall a great place to stay but one word of caution for those that care about such things. If you're using a credit card to pay for your stay, note that there is a credit card service fee included on your final bill at checkout. I suppose one could argue they're being transparent about it vs. burying it as part of a resort fee. "

"Only 3 of the 6 elevators appeared to be working (but there was no signage to confirm this) which resulted in my low mobility mother and I having to wait more than 25 minutes for an elevator to check out, at which point she had to force herself into an already full elevator while I took the stairs. We requested to be taken down in the staff elevator and were denied and told to wait or take the stairs. Very disappointed in the service and this experience and wouldn't recommend it to others especially those with accessibility issues."

"Checked in early and had the staff hold my luggage. Very courteous and helpful staff. Room comfortable and bathroom water pressure very good. Convenient location and close to so many places to visit. Thank you"

"I was upgraded into a larger room but i found it very depressing.The bed backdrop was amazing,look a like corrugated iron.The furniture or lack of it did notsuit the large room. Shower door was faulty,would not stay shut when showering,kept on swinging inwards which made showering hard. I reported it on checking out. "

"Some room furniture was aged. The place is very nice overall. It is a bit upscale attitude for my taste. Water should be provided not charged."

"The location is great, right in behind Campbell Cove and close to the harbour. It was very easy to get around in such a nice area. The hotel is dated but we were happy with the room, which was clean and the bed was comfortable. We would stay again."

"The York is very central to local attractions and Wynyard Station. We used the train system to and from the airport. Renovation work did not effect our room 1901. Catered for our own breakfast in the room."

"Nice place very near Opera House, shops and restaurants. Only downside is can’t get coffee before 7am at hotel."
