    The Space:

    Heron's Lodge is a house consisting of a kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher, a dining room with a dining table, a sitting room with TV and electric fire, and a cloakroom with basin and WC. The bedrooms consist of a super-king-size bed, a 2’6” twin bed and an adult bunk bed. There is a bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin, heated towel rail, and WC. Outside, there is an enclosed rear garden with patio, lawn, and furniture, as well as off-road parking for four cars. Highchair, travel cot, and stair gate available. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1.6 miles. Return year after year to Heron's Lodge. Note: Check-in from 2:30 pm, check-out by 10 am. Note: Shop and cafe on-site.



    The Neighborhood:

    The quaint hamlet of Penperlleni lies in a peaceful position in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Surrounded by the luscious open fields, this charming community is perfectly suited to a group of walkers and families alike. There is a charming store at the heart of the hamlet selling all the essential items, as well as a bustling pub serving up delicious hot meals. Within easy touring distance of the towns of Abergavenny and Pontypool, as well as Merthyr Tydfil and Cwmbran, there are attractions and landmarks aplenty just waiting to be explored. See the imposing 18th-century remains of Blaenavon Ironworks and the old steam trains at The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway, or uncover sights such as Ogof Craig a Ffynnon and the cascading waters of Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfall. The cities of Newport and Cardiff also sit within a pleasant drive and offer a superb day out for the whole family, with fun to be had at Roald Dahl Plass and the National Museum Cardiff, as well as tours of Cardiff Castle and Newport Cathedral. A splendid base from which to tour the wonderful Welsh countryside.
