"This house was very clean, well appointed and gorgeous. The bed is comfortable, and it’s very peaceful here. We had no trouble getting rest. There’s also a private parking area, a big plus for us. The surrounding area is very walkable and the local residents are very friendly. If you like history it’s all close by. There’s also the Mariners Museum that’s a short drive in Newport News that’s absolutely amazing. The hosts are responsive and provide plenty of information. You won’t be disappointed if you have the opportunity to stay here."

"Quite possibly the best impromptu stop my husband and I have ever made! Everything was incredibly clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was even more enjoyable with the beautiful view.We loved taking in the beautifully decorated rooms and especially enjoyed cozying up by all the fireplaces. The entire stay was so peaceful and relaxing—it was the perfect place to get away and unwind. We’re already planning our return!"

The interior was very well decorated, the updated kitchen was very nice & very well appointed. The entire house was in excellent condition and very clean. The added bonus with the doc out back on the water was very relaxing. We didn’t get to use the available water “toys” (paddle boards, kayaks & canoe) due to weather but we are already talking about coming back for another stay. We truly enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend!"

"A delightful island cottage with beautiful views of York River. The place was pet-friendly as our 2 fur-babies were welcomed. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cottage, along with the sights and sounds of the local wildlife. The cottage was clean with comfortable furniture and well-equipped kitchen. The front porch and back deck were just perfect for sitting, enjoying the breezes, and watching the views of life on the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend renting this cottage. We do plan to try to return next year."
