I liked that we didn't have to travel far to the event we were going to. I didn't like being on the first floor under people who were stomping or running around through the night, it made it hard to sleep.

Check out was at noon, so I took advantage of sleeping in. I had gotten up earlier to eat breakfast and visit with my husband before a tournament. Housekeeping banged on the door at 9:45 and again a little bit later even with my “do not disturb” sign in place. Startled me and did not get any rest. I was very upset, manager said she was sorry they should not knock before 11 am, hope they get this worked out. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and loved breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was nice and clean. The only oddity was that there was very little cellphone service. I did use the wi-fi but it didn't help the regular service. However, if I go to Carthage, TX again I would strongly consider staying at the hotel again.

The trim around the air conditioner kept falling off. Told the front several times and was not fixed during our stay. I’m praying I don’t get charged for it. The air conditioner did not work well. Beds were super soft. Water did not stay hot long

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious, had great amenities and was clean. Only thing they need to fix are the side door / pool door card readers. They worked 1 out of 5 times.

There is no way of knowing if a property is under renovation, so pool closed, gym closed. My biggest issue is they put us in a room closest to a busy highway. Loud even at 3am ... normally I will choose Holiday Inn express but will re-think that going forward.

Great Stay
We needed a hotel room because my OTR truck driver husband had a wreck and was at the local hospital. He was released and arrived at the hotel before we did. The woman who checked him in was very nice and walked him to our room when she saw how injured he was. The beds were extremely comfy!!

Side entrance doors wasn’t working. Keys didn’t work on opening outside doors. We could go out the doors but had to walk around to enter hotel. Very limited parking in front of hotel. It was reported to front desk but nothing was done to fix the doors

The halls/floors are filthy. Luckily the room is cleaner. Our deadbolt doesn’t go in all the way, the room key doesn’t work on outside door……that’s all, so far!

softball mom here. this is a great place to stay. clean, nice staff and breakfast in the morning . was a little concerned that the stair way on the 2nd floor was out of order. not sure if the stair way on the other side of the 2nd floor was open. if your going to play in a softball tournament the field is about 5 min away. walmart is close by. Has a laundry room as well. if we play here again I will definitely stay again

Commode didn’t flush, light out in the bathroom, refrigerator froze our drinks, broken window so the road traffic was loud and air coming in from outside. Elevator walls filthy, fire escape out of order. Floors dirty in laundry area. No ice buckets.

The construction had the workout room closed off which is not mentioned online. The bathtub was stained and looked like dirt at the bottom. The internet was down which was a big inconvenience to me since I am a college student. All of this could have been posted on the site with the remodel information.

Holiday Inn Carthage. Don’t expect much.
We had been driving for several days and decided to make a stop for the night at Carthage because we were tired. There are renovations going on and a little dust in the common areas. Our room size was ok although we could hear traffic in the highway. Unfortunately our room had a piece cut out of the carpet. Mattresses were awful but pillows and bed linen were ok. Staff was friendly. Hopefully they will finish renovations soon and change carpets and mattresses.

Minor things
Fridge door would not shut all of the way. Fire alarm went off at 0630 for about ten seconds and no fire. I will stay here again just wasn’t as impressed as the other Holiday Inn Express that we stay in.
