It had so much character and felt like we were staying in a gem in Portugal the views and the peaceful Setting was the perfect place to stay on our first night in Portugal I highly recommend staying here and you would never be disappointed."

"Botel Baia is centrally located and we loved veing able to walk to all the shops and cafes. Waking up to views of the bay was lovely but the rooftop pool was not our favorite as it was inside what looked like a greenhouse and felt stuffy. We werent there to swim so it was OK but sometimes laying by the pool with a drink is nice and you couldnt do that there. The staff was VERY nice, especially a man at the front desk named Mathew. He went above and beyond to greet us everyday with a big smile and it made a difference in our stay :) Breakfast is included which is nice but its very basic and doesnt change. just so ya know."

"Spectacular ocean views from the balcony. The indoor pool has multiple jets, including some on the floor. The breakfast buffet is nice especially since the chef is visible. On the rooftop, a restaurant provides a gorgeous sunset and the pool can be seen from the road. Stunning!"

"This hotel desperatly needs maintenance. It is clean and the staff is extremely nice, but the rooms need painting, the furniture is old and shows chipped paint, the tiles in the bathroom are broken, the shower needs new washers, and the towels are grey, hard, and old, not fitting for a 5-star hotel."

"The property could be so beautiful but is sadly so so run down. Our shower head was so low only suitable for a child. Burnt out Light bulbs in bathroom made it hard to shave and they didn’t have a replacement considering the entire hotel uses these bulbs. The tv did not work at all despite 3 days of complaining. Even after and finally a tech visit on our last day. The veranda was not swept nor cleaned. Had to ask for special cleaning. Sure it’s windy and sandy. And they should know that. Most windows were new and updated and keyless entry was nice. The pool and spa area are beyond repair or use and completely closed off and barred Couldn’t even use lounge chairs. Staff and other guests smoked at entrances in No Smoking marked area so entrance smelled terribly of smoke. Met the 96 year old owner and his mid 50 son who seemed nice. This property has amazing views and so much potential but sadly has been neglected far too long that I can’t see a possible comeback. The interior has wonderful character and many many lounge areas. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we had to close our eyes to so many depriving elements."
