Prestige Hotel Vero Beach

"This is a nice, simple, and well priced oceanfront hotel in a great location - I would certainly stay here again based on the cleanliness alone!! The room was extremely clean and the back patio area is lovely for reading/eating and enjoying the ocean breeze. The room had a clean and fully functioning kitchen and the beds and climate controls were both comfortable. Breakfast was simple but adequate (yogurt, fruit, some packaged pastries, toast, coffee, etc.). Additionally, there are some fantastic (a little expensive - but genuinely delicious) restaurants across the street and the hotel offers beach loungers with umbrellas on a wide and quiet beach (get there early because the available loungers will definitely fill up). There was an extremely sharp edge on the shower surround in the bathroom. My sister got a bad scratch from it and we placed a towel over it for the rest of our trip to avoid any other accidents. Parking is tight and someone claimed we dinged their car while we were there (which we did not), so be cautious about where you park."

"I do not know why there are so many good reviews about this hotel because my experience was very poor. First off, I do give five stars for location, could not ask for a better place then right on Hutchinson Island. Beach, several bars/pubs within walking distance, I was able to catch the sunrise on the jetty. Yes, a great location. The hotel itself is old and run down. I was given a key card but the swipe mechanism on the door was broken so was given a standard key. Hallways look worn, and need a lot of work to touch up. The door jamb was rusted and bent, I had to slam the door several time before it would lock. Furniture in room again worn and needs replacement desk chair wobbles, desk drawer would not open. Rusting trim in the bathroom. The sliding door to the balcony does not slide. WiFi was marginal speed test down 3.10, up 3.53. New smart TV in the room was a plus, the last occupant forgot to sign out of this Premium YouTube account (I used my own credentials for other streaming services). The last kicker was $16 a day resort fee for use of the pool and patio – really? I was booked for two days and did not get any maid service, so unmade bed and used towels for two days. This places needs a boat load of TLC. Sorry, I highly do not recommend."
