10 out of 10 for all except amenities but we chose Balcary bay for its location it didn’t choose us.
For the missing amenities Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie are only 10/15 minutes drive away.
It was the first time that we have stayed in the Nook but having stayed in Gill & Mike’s other cottage on site we knew what to expect. Everything in the Nook is top notch.
The weather for our week was rain most days but the area is ideal for dog owners or not as there are plenty of beaches in the area to explore.
It’s not a case for if we return it’s when.

We spent a week at The Nook after our honeymoon to Cuba with Thomas Cook fell through.
We spent a week at The Nook after our honeymoon to Cuba with Thomas Cook fell through. And what a wonderful week it was. A beautiful place with absolutely everything provided in the cottage that you could possibly want for. We didn't want to leave! Have given a score of 7 for amenities because you do need a car to get to the nearest shops etc. but we were aware of this and that was one of the reasons we picked this place. Overall would highly recommend. And our dog loved it too!
