Wonderful find in Castlederg
Lovely manager, our queen bed was in a large room with a balcony and outdoor sitting area. The shower has low pressure so that was the only negative. Easy to find and parking on site was great.

All attempts were made to ensure our stay was comfortable. Lovely house, spacious room and balcony. Site needs updating, there are no laundry facilities. Bar not open. No meals available except for breakfast. The town of Castlederg is ‘sad’, appears not to have recovered from Covid shutdowns.

3 Night Business Trip - Ardgort Courtry House
I stayed at the Ardgort Country House for 3 nights whilst on business. I really enjoyed the stay, my room was well equipped, very clean, warm and had a good shower. The breakfast was excellent you must try the Full Irish cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope I have the opportunaty to return sometime soon.

Great stay
John offered me a choice of room. I took a corner room on 1st floor with huge private terrace. Traditional decor. Lovely bar lounge with wood fire. All very relaxing. Country views but town five minutes walk away with castle park & lots of bars & a few restaurants. Great breakfast and complementary box of chocolates on way out!

2 night business stay.
A very comfortable and quiet hotel with fantastic countryside views. My room was spacious and clean with lovely decor. The host was friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. I would definitely stay again.

John the owner greeted us. Carried our bags to the room. The room was just stunning. House built in early 1900s. So much character. Private, clean and comfortable. Then there was the bar and sitting room with tv or the room with the pool table. The scenary was breathtaking. And breakfast was served in the dining room on time, hot and delicious. John walked us to our car to say goodbye with a box of chocolates. Who could ask for anything more. Thank you john,you were a fantastic host. Wendy and jeff

Charming guest house
The good: Very friendly and attentive host. Excellent breakfast. Cosy bar area. The so-so: Squeaky bed Dissappointing: No food on site (except breakfast) Would I stay again? Definitely. Would I recommend? Yes. More character than a chain hotel.

Wonderful stay!!!
This B&B features quaint and comfortable rooms. Feels very much like home. The food is great and the bar is very cute!!! Most importantly, John, the owner, is AMAZING!! I really cannot say enough good about him. He made us feel so welcome, provided great conversation, and even gave me a box and cookies and a big hug when we left. He made us feel like family from the moment we walked through the door. Loved our stay here!

Quaint country inn
Driving from the Giant's Causeway towards Galway, we stopped at the quaint 100 year old inn in the town of Castlederg. Friendly gentleman who runs the inn was helpful. Older place but beautiful setting. Even some locals come to have a few pints. Nice for a stop over from travelling.

John and all the staff at Ardgort Country House were so hospitable and lovely. As a lone traveller I felt so at home and felt so comfortable in this little town I'd never been to before. The room was really comfortable and I had my own private balcony! Blissful! John made sure I had everything I needed and the breakfast was fantastic. All in all - really great stay and would recommend to all. And eat in Red Pepper!

Must stay!
We booked a night at the Ardgort via Expedia for the evening after Paddy's Day. We weren't sure what to expect given that Castlederg is very small. We arrived in the early evening to a near empty parking lot, but sat for a minute to take in the beautifully manicured grounds. We walked in to a very quaint home and made our way to the bar where we were greeted by John, the owner/sweetest man you will ever meet. He quickly checked our reservation and escorted us to our room and made sure our heat was set just so. The room was clean, tidy, and decorated in a manner that reminded me of a warm hug from your grandmother. We decided on dinner and a pint after ordering our breakfast for the next day and figuring out the wifi (it was a bit spotty). The soup was delicious, the steak was unevenly cooked but edible and a similar cut to what we had experienced throughout Ireland. For breakfast, my wife had the full Irish breakfast and I had the scrambled eggs and bacon. It was delicious and for both meals, John was the host, server, and bus boy. He wears all hats. We checked out soon after breakfast and he was so sweet and seemed sad to see us off, but wished us well and sent us with a gift. We will definitely be back if we're ever in the area.

lovely relaxing stay
I had a lovely relaxing weekend at the Ardgort. The welcome from the owner was warm and friendly and the food great. The room was very clean and very big with big balcony of bathroom. The garden was looking good with the daffs coming out. A lovely quiet hotel and a quiet location. Thoroughly enjoyable weekend

Great B&B, wonderful host
We were greeted with such a warm welcome from John and made to feel very much at home. Location is perfect for day trips to nearby towns and counties. The restaurant meals are superb, lovely fresh ingredients, we were sad to leave and bid farewell to John however, have made a peomise that we will return one day. Well worth a visit, warm and welcoming and great hospitality.

Very comfortable inn with an excellent host named John who took very gracious care of us. Both dinner and breakfast were well done. The room itself was very pleasant. We had a very nice one night stay here as an in between stop between other destinations.

This is a superb B&B. The owner, John, is such a fantastic host and nothing was too much trouble. Great location and good value for money. It's not a five star place but it's very homely and comfortable. If ever I'm back this way, I'll definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended hotel.
John, the owner, was very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our short stay very memorable and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and the dining room is light and well equipped. next time we'll take advantage of the excellent evening menu.

Booked for five days, looked at room and left.
This establishment, in our experience, did not match the reviews at all. We have been asked to offer a review but as the proprietor has taken umbrage and the claim for the five days stay refund is still progressing through Expedia we didn't think it appropriate to say too much. The reason we left was all to do with cleanliness. The proprietor, when informed we would not be staying, called us "picky". The nice quality towels were damp: used and folded or poor laundry service? The top cover of the bed had a yellow stain, the top sheet was not ironed, bottom sheet was stained and very thin with no mattress protector. The pillows were thinner than thought possible to be and not fit for purpose. The room was cluttered with so much furniture, not useful items for the B & B guest. There was no where to put your things except on the grubby floor. The property smelt musty and the room of urine as well. Cats? We kept our part of the contract, we turned up as booked. The property failed to keep their part of the bargain and provide a room fit for purpose and as described. In fact the room booked was described as being in a courtyard annexe not at the top of a flight and half of stairs. At the top of the stairs was an ironing board with its cover hanging off. It would have taken moments to fix and remove this bad impression. The owner's son rang later to enquire first hand the problems. He was polite and said he had provided new bedding but surprised it wasn't used.

Great little B&B in the middle of Northern Ireland. We used it as a mid-way point on our way to Donegal but would be quite happy to stay longer. A very warm welcome by the owner and his family.

Great Manor with a country feel.
John was great, greeted us and was very friendly asking about our trip and where we'do come from. He then showed us to our room and let us settle in. Our room was lovely and spacious, with a private balcony which sadly we didnt have enough time to enjoy. We did have to ask for a couple essentials, but John was great about getting then. Ensured we had what we needed and when we wanted breakfast in the morning. Our breakfast was ready at 8 as requested and we all enjoyed a modified full Irish breakfast! Would definitely recommend to others.

We had made a booking for a family room which the hotels.com website specified accommodated two adults and three kids. However, when we arrived at the hotel the room only had beds for 4 persons. When we requested a camp bed, we were told that there would be an extra charge for the bed which was not stated at the time of booking. There was also no shampoo/ conditioner or shower gel in the bathroom which I would expect with a three and half star hotel rating.

Ardgort simply wonderful!
John met us at the front door of Ardgort Country House welcoming us in and showed us to our lovely room overlooking the pretty sheep meadow. The chef stayed a little late so we could have some soup which was delicious. The bedroom was very sweet with dainty flowered tile and sink, pretty curtains and very soft comfy bedding. The Carrick-a-rede bridge is a hidden gem must see just 1 hour and half north. John was a caring host and we are so thankful for our stay.
