Dream come true
Stayed a week with my family for the last week of September. The house was perfect, with everything we needed (Cora, the owner, was also great with communicating with us, thank you!). The view from the patio on top of the hill overlooking Castletown Berehaven and Bere Island was incredibly beautiful. The house is close to town and a short drive to the West shores of Allihies and the Southern stretch down near Dursey Island. All around a perfect 10 spot, highly recommend this magical place. P.S. - Keep this place a secret, the most beautiful part of Ireland on our two-week tour was this place, Beara Peninsula is a hidden gem.

Will be returning
We arrived for a family reunion and we’re bowled over at the beauty of our view. My extended family admired it so much that I have to send them the listing! Next time there’s even a hint of another gathering we will be booking this place before the rest!

Memorable Summer Holiday
Stayed for 2 glorious weeks. Couldn’t have been happier with the house. The minute we turned into the drive that creeped down to a breathtaking view, we knew our time at Domhain Eile would be memorable. The house was spotless with everything needed for a great summer holiday. We are keen cooks and the kitchen came equipped with everything needed, also a great big table for family board games. The bedrooms were big with views from each room. Plenty of extra towels and sheets for a 2 week stay. Great WiFi for the teenagers. Castletownbere is a wonderful location , with access to lots of activities. We enjoyed them all-swimming, pier jumping, scuba diving, kayaking, horse riding, hiking, cable car to Dursey Island, Allihies beach. Star adventure centre. Bantry Boat Charters, all So easy to get to from Domhain Eile. We hope to return again in the future.

Great location for exploring
Great location for exploring Bere peninsula. Lovely view. Very well equipped house with lots of space for everyone to relax. Comfy beds! Only downside - WiFi was a bit hit and miss and you need to look after your own garbage disposal

Thank you to Sue for the review. We will certainly investigate the quality of the wifi. As to refuse disposal, our guests are asked to use the local recycling centre because the collection service does not currently extend to our location. We are happy to assist guests with any special requests. All the best, Michael and Cora

Wonderful view
Wonderful house with fabulous view. Beara is quiet relative to other peninsulas on the west coast. A hidden gem with stunning scenery. Terrific for walking, and eating out is great value, when you can get a lobster dinner for €20. Will definitely return.

Lovely quiet spot
This is a lovely, well-equipped house in, it feels like, the middle of nowhere. A great place for our family reunion. The views are to die for! And there is a prehistoric standing stone in the garden too. Thanks for a fantastic holiday.

Beautiful Home and Views
This home is lovely and spacious and the setting is just beautiful Nearest town Castletownbeare has everything you need The entire peninsula is breath-taking and well worth taking the coastal route even tough sometimes hairy with drivers -but you cannot miss it The home is well equipped and has everything you need Really lovely sitting outside in evening watching the ocean, beare island You can also see the town from the house only negative and really small - the lower oven we had problems getting to work -but it didn't interfere with the holiday as there is a top oven However it was a fabulous location and the hosts have thought of everything to make your stay really brilliant

Wonderful view, well equipped
The four of us had a wonderful holiday and stay in Domhain Eile. It's a spacious home with great views and privacy. Made some lovely walks directly from the back yard, and explored Beara extensively. The location of the house is great for that. During our stay there was a problem with the central heating and overflow pipe but Cora was on it once she heard of the problem. She also provided us with a lot of info beforehand and quickly replied to questions we had during our stay. For us the mattresses weren't fully suited to our needs but others may not have any problems. Overall fine, roomy house in a great location, with a kitchen that has everything you may need for cooking, which we like, and views to beat any. We especially loved the morning mists hanging low over the fields. Great memories.
